My question is what have you guys been using, I don't think any of you would be paying this.
I have found someone on ebay and gumtree selling what appears to be original brembo pads for $599, a lot more palatable than $1150.
What are you guys buying, installing, how much and where from?

Cheers

As mentioned above I changed my fronts to Hawk Ceramic at less than 1000k's. I had used the same brand/style on my FPV F6X Territory and knew for certain they produced almost no dust. I bought them from amazon USA for $146 plus $35 postage (US dollars) so all up around $200 odd AU delivered.

If you want I'll sell you my OEM Brembo pads (less than 1000ks old) for half the cost of the ebay/gumtree ones. At least you will know they are the correct OEM pad.

They only squeal when I have been hard on them a few times in a row (wont tell you here how that happens lol).

General day to day driving they have been great so far. As per my previous post I have used the same pad on my FPV Territory (also 6piston Brembo's) and only occasionaly had squeal.

When cold they are only slightly less grippy, if that makes sense, but you learn to use them. When at operating temp and especially when hot ( ) they work as good as OEM. The reason OEM FEELS so grippy is because they are such a soft compound, hence all the dust.

Thanks for the feedback, greatly appreciated.
I just got a price online from a place in the US and was quoted $450 AUD delivered for both front and rear hawk ceramic pads.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Hey guys, a quick update... loving the SRT... towing is awesome, and a bit of light-duty off-road action very comfortable. Hill start assist was annoying me so that's now off as well as any other warnings and automatic functions I can find to switch off. The exception being the BSM as I'm feeling it could save me one day...unfortunately I'm still not a fan of the wing mirrors, made worse by the reflection of the dash vents on the window, but anyway...
Before I get it back to the dealer for the first service, has anyone experienced a random clicking noise from under the dash somewhere? I'm assuming this may be difficult fault to diagnose as it is very intermittent. It might happen once every few drives, but it sounds a bit like a rack and pinion or a motor gear slipping. No obvious side effects but it's a bit of a worry. Any advice appreciated.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

That clicking noise is the ABS pump priming up the brakes. They all do it and it should only happen once you have started the car. You will hear it more often if you have ACC on, as this is how the car brakes by itself.

Thanks Enforcer, if that's it and there's nothing to worry about that's good news. I would say the noise lasts approx 2 seconds... does this sound right?
The auto braking was on by default when I got the car, but I was unaware until it activated and scared the crap out of me, not to mention the poor bloke behind me. That was the first automatic function to be turned off. With passion.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

The ABS priming does last about 2 seconds. I have also had several issues with the FCW kicking in unexpectedly, I have had to adapt my driving style to avoid it going off. It does scare the crap out of me when it kicks in. I can replicate it, when someone is moving lanes into a right turn lane and I start to accelerate past them.

My SRT ha done it from day on end is extremely loud. Been back to the deal 6 times about it as it does it way to often through the day. It is to do with the ABS as Enforcer said. The mechanic told me it was normal till I played the video of the noise !!! Video being sent to Chrysler/Jeep USA to be looked at Nd hopefully rectified. It's driving me around the twist. All the others I have been in you can't here the noise (5 others I have been in or asked owners about) Even went for a drive with Head mechanic in the dealer one and couldn't here it in that. Mine is so loud anyone in the car just gives me a stare of what the was that..... I have posted the noise on another thread titled clicking noise if you want to hear it. Hope yours is fixed soon.

Sounds like a pain in the rear end guys, potentially literally!
I'm glad the thing can be turned off personally.

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Anyone installed a tow bar on the SRT after delivery? Considering either doing through the dealer or myself elsewhere.

Got mine installed by Aranda Towbars. It's the TAG brand. Square hitch Hayman Reese style. Apparently HR do not do one for the SRT due to the rear valance diffrerence. But I did get this info 2nd hand. Aranda did a good job except their installer said the undertray cover needs to be removed to fit it. I grabbed the tray, removed a section at the rear to clear the hitch with a jigsaw and snapped it back on. Took me 10 minutes.

Towing capacity for the bar rated at 2268 for Pentastar V6 or 3500 for 3Ld or 5.7 HEMI. So I guess the for the SRT its what the factory quotes.

I can PM you the rep's number if you like.

Beats me why a vehicle like this still needs holes drilling in the chassis and wiring spliced into the tail lights for towbar installation. Does anyone have any experience with the Mopar unit, prices, and installation method?
