Re: Sydney SRT Club

I had an Audi Q7, one of the reasons I got rid of that was that the discs and pads cost me $2500 every 30,000 kms

Unless you are towing constantly (like towing a boat) I dont see how they can warrant changing them... just the dealers trying to sucker you out of $$$
Brother inlaw has a Q7 TDI he had an oil leak from the turbo lucky for him it was under warranty cause he asked how much it cost if was not under warranty they told him $10k. $10k for a turbo like WTF...

This is what he told me

Re: Sydney SRT Club

I had a Volvo XC70 at one point and during a service they asked if I wanted the Wipers changed..... for A$900! When I said No and that I'd just go to the Servo and buy some blades an fit myself they tried the while "but it is not genuine". Speaking to the Mgr when I picked it up apparantly they don't have just the rubber so replace the whole arm (3x$300) and he was laughing as apparantly some people say "yes".

Re: Sydney SRT Club

Where do you Sydney guys recommend getting your dealer services done? I'm getting my first oil change tomorrow at the dealer at Leichardt.

Also- what do you guys do about car washes- do you strictly do it yourselves, or only get hand washers, or dont give a rats arse? Anyone get the paint protection? I didnt because I reckon its crap IMO.

thanks.

So you did the Diablo Tune before getting the RIPP SC? Which model tuner did you get and what kind of increases did you see, if any?

I'm hearing good things about HemiFever's canned tunes but can't seem to recall his results.

Obviously, if you can get a tuner for ~$500 and more than 20kW it represents much better value than $1600 and only 20kW...plus you can keep the tuner if the service dealer accidentally re-flashes with the factory settings. But if you're not getting anything, there's no point at all.
