- The 4WD 2011 Grand Cherokee (in the new body size / style) has a 5.7L engine that only uses 4 cylinders when cruising at highway speeds and has a 19 MPG rating. The 2012 (4WD?) Grand Cherokee SRT8 will have a 6.4L engine that only uses 4 cylinders when cruising at highway speeds. I can't imagine that their weights will be dramatically different, so wouldn't it make sense that their highway MPG ratings will be similar? Compare that to the 14-16 MPG rating that the first generation Grand Cherokee SRT8 had.

- The first generation SRT8 was AWD, and hints are pointing towards the second generation being 4WD. I would think that being able to turn off the 4WD thereby only driving 2 wheels continuously would net at least a minor MPG increase.

Wouldn't both of these changes net improvements in the combined MPG rating of the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8? Me thinks so...
I just want to know why MPG's are even in question here ???

This is the new SRT8 with the 6.4L engine in it, I really could care less about the MPG's it gets.

I bet you most of the SRT8 owners will not care either i.e. JOE LOL

Anyways ....

MILOUS WE NEED MORE INFO LIKE YESTERDAY !!! QUIT BEING A TEASE LIKE A STRIPPER

Re: The 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8: New and improved

Milous...... will the new SRT "blip" the trottle on downshifts in "sport" flappy-paddle mode?

I hope so! Cool feature when pressing on, and is well wicked when slowing to a halt for lights

Agree on the chrome - hoping for more body colored trim.

Hoping for flat.

I know different people want different things, but I'm hoping for a subtle sleeper that looks pretty much like a regular GC but brings a smile to my face when I press the pedal.

P.S. I want to see it now! I want to see it now! I want to see it now!

I'll second the flat hood...or at least a mild "power bump"...really hoping they can keep the vents and scoopery off of it.
