Re: The 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8: New and improved

Why the chrome mirrors and side moldings? I read one review of the Charger and it pointed out the fact that Dodge went with all body colored trim and quoted a Dodge exec something like "we understand that not everyone wants lots of chrome on their cars". I was really hoping everything would be body colored like the SEMA street Jeep.

With that said, those of you with 2011's, how hard is it to remove the side moldings?

Believe me, I have been just as anxious as anyone out there to find out about the 2nd gen SRT. It's been more than 5 years since I first got inside info that the 6.4L was going to into production, just a month ahead of when the first WK SRT's rolled off the assembly line. I was told at the time that it was planned to be intro'd in the Challenger first, followed by the 300, Charger and Jeep, which has now proven to be true. The 6.4 was scheduled to come out sooner, and I have documents that show that, but the decision was made to hold off until the 2011 and 2012 model years.

Re: The 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8: New and improved

Milous, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! We REALLY appreciate all of your hard work on this.

Just curious; do you have any idea if the 8-speed will make it's way into the 2013 Grand Cherokee SRT8? According to WKJeeps (HERE) the Grand Cherokee is supposed to get it in 2013, but makes no mention if this includes the SRT8.

Again, THANKS!!!

Re: The 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8: New and improved

Will Command View be an option? I see rear DVD listed but I hope that doesn't mean it is the only way (meaning DVD will be standard and thus, no Command View)

I really want Command View!

**EDIT** I just looked back and I must have been smoking something. I can't find rear DVD listed on the standard options. So, Milous, and idea if Command View will be an option?

Re: The 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8: New and improved

Milous, are there any indications that the SRT will still be slotted around the price of an Overland? Maybe it's just me but it seems like the new line of SRT's (Charger, Chally, etc.) are sharing much of their technology and it looks like their prices will not be sky-rocketing. This new wk2 SRT may very well be a true uncaged monster, BUT the new adaptation seems much more evolved from it's outgoing SRT model, rather than totally wiping the slate clean. Hopefully this will keep it's cost relative to how the WK SRT was priced. Just my twin pennies

Milous, do you have any idea which SRT models are set for export production?

Don't know yet, supposedly they are going to start out by putting the 8-spd in V6 models but no indication whether or not it is slated for future SRT models.
