Re: To de-bagde or not to de-bagde

My neighbors think I'm mental for wiping the SRT down every day and some have told me that they haven't washed theirs more than a few times a year.
I like my vehicles squeaky clean all the time and don't understand how they drive such filthy cars......
Everyone sees things differently and some think alike, that's just life. I'm happy and try to help others live happier. Just enjoy life!

Badges, Re-badged or no badges, the only people who notice are car enthusiasts. Some people can't even tell the difference bt a Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit, Altitude, SRT or even notice the difference bt V8/V6 models.
Lol, Some people don't even know the SRT is the monster of Jeeps.

What do you wipe it down with?

I would, if I still had it. However, it got a little "warped" during the removal process. It's held in with double sided tape, and there are 2 locating pins, to properly orient the logo. I removed in two steps. The first step involved removing the "chrome" letters, because they're a separate piece, that's taped on to a black, "underlayment". (I didn't know this, initially. I thought it was a one-piece deal.)

I used a heat gun to carefully warm the chrome logo, and slid a 10-12" piece of fishing line under the letters. At that point, they separated from the bottom part, leaving a rough outline of black letters that filled the depression, and spelled "Jeep". I sort of could have. left it as, but in reality, it looked a little hokey.

I then ordered a black logo, and used the heat gun and fishing line again, to remove the remainder of the logo. Unfortunately, in removing this second piece, I warped it pretty good, as it's sunken into the gate, and you need to be a little forceful in removing it.

Sorry....
I didn't realize that it was 2 pieces. Now that I look closer it appears that each letter is separate. But that's good news. The chrome on my badge is what was damaged - actually I really only need to replace the "P". Are your chrome pieces usable?

Zaino Z-6 or Z-8. I alternate between the two.

Re: To de-badge or not to de-badge

My vote is to de badge the doors and rear hatch.

I kept the "JEEPS" front and rear!

Haven't been here in a while............

IIRC, the chrome part of the logo came off in one piece, but no, I don't have it. I took this badge off over a year ago, and "canned" it.

Re: To de-badge or not to de-badge

What part is so hard to understand? Why someone modifies their vehicle to their taste?

Why did you buy a (insert your color here) SRT?

It is known as "PP"

Personal Preference.

Not my preference, but I like quilted seats.

Nobody knows what the hell an SRT Jeep is in the first place. And they make absolutely zero sense to drive, especially as a daily. Do what makes you happy. I went the rebadge route as I just didn't like the chrome lettering. Switched out to black SRT badges. Sorry for rant. This thread pissed me off since one guy up the chain said it's "ghetto." Let's go back to being friends now, haha!!
