And I just got a copy of the window sticker of my jeep. I'm trying to see if I can still take delivery of the luggage and the SRT track experience.
Anyone install this DIY? If not, does anyone know how much it would be to have the dealer add it?

Oh I'm so a 60's baby!

Kbench55, Good looking out in keeping me up to date!!

My jeep is wired for the hitch so I don't think I'm going to need the harness? Show me the way if you know.

Thanks in advance

Re: Tow package Install Question

Doesn't the factory tow package include heavy duty cooling?

Will a dealer installed tow bar include this?

Re: Tow package Install Question

It's to my understanding that all SRT are equipped with this cooling system just needs to be unlocked by dealer. My sticker says I have it's wired up with everything but I have no hitch. Alls I needed was the 3 parts listed in one of my posts. I did not need the wire ing harness, just the hitch, 4way&7way plug and the rear cover door. To have everything installed cost me $100 it took about 2 hours

I'm still looking an doing the research on that very topic! My dealer is not the very greatest I have to go in with all the research for them to even know what's going on very frustrating!!

So still looking for help I don't know everything I'm willing to learn!! So all help is wanted!!

TheBlack1

Are you saying that you had the trailer hitch installed for only $100?!

I was of the understanding that it would cost around $500 for the labor alone. I do realize that some dealers may charge a bit more based on location, but a $400 difference is pretty substantial.

Re: Tow package Install Question

Mrhetrick & gnasty152, I found my dealer to be very UNHELPFUL an only knows what's in the book of dealer law if you will.

I bought my SRT8 Jeep used so I contacted jeep an they emailed me my sticker with all the options on my jeep. So to be clear my sticker says I have a tow package with no hitch. Now after looking into this I was hoping jeep would give me a hitch "NOT!" I Bought a the parts an had my local body shop install the hitch an they only charged me a little over $100 it was 2hours of labor to install everything it was all plug an play all 3 parts listed in other post. I still have to go to the dealer an have them unlock the towing package already in the jeep.

I also found out that with the SRT Models there are 3 ways they come loaded with the hitch already hooked up, no hitch but wired for one & no hitch no wiring what so ever. When you hookup a tow hitch weather it's OEM or aftermarket the dealer has to activate/turn on the softwear towing package that is already in the SRT8 model.

What I think is maybe everything should come out to about $500-600 total for everything. Cause with $500 in labor alone would mean that the hitch would cost somewhere around $1000 that's just crazy!!
