Troubleshooting: Outside temp sensor - slow to respond

All

So for the past few weeks, noticing a problem. Start the Beast in the morning - drive to work - outside temperature is whatever it is in the garage, by the time I get to work, maybe up a few degrees seems normal.

Go out at lunch or end of the day, remote start and no auto a/c or anything - car thinks it is still mid-50's or 60's outside. Outside temp sensor is set at the morning temperature.

On the way home, it is maybe up to 70 degrees - but only climbs to the outside time if I'm sitting in traffic for a long time.

Today, was 52degrees when I left the house - at noon today (after sitting in the sun) it is still at 52 degrees - hasn't moved.

So, is this a Uconnect issue (running the most recent) - a hardware issue (need a new temp probe) - or something else is jacked up

Any thoughts or input would help - as well as if anyone knows where the outside temp probe is located.

Thanks in Advance - !

Re: Troubleshooting: Outside temp sensor - slow to respond

I have noticed this issue on both my 2012 and now my 2014. I get the feeling that some times the jeep needs to get up to highway speed to read the temp accurately after it has been sitting for a bit.

Same here, temperature barely ever changes..it was like 108 out the other day and my temp still said 90 from sitting in the garage all night.

Re: Troubleshooting: Outside temp sensor - slow to respond

I'm pretty sure my last software update (recent TSB) covered this...
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0805314a.pdf

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience one or all of the following:
False security alarm activation.
A significant delay to update the ambient air temperature display.
Intermittently the interior lights may not turn on with the first press of the key fob.

Re: Troubleshooting: Outside temp sensor - slow to respond

Nice CLSTech - I didn't bring this TSB to the attention of my dealer on last visit as most of the time they screw something up.

Thanks much! - will add it to the list come next oil change when I need to get the sunvisor wiring recall done as well.
