Updated Engine Oil Requirement From ChryCo

I received information in the mail that updated and confirms the use of SAE 0W-40 full synthetic engine oil in the current SRT8 engines. I'm sure this will be communicated to all effected. Here's some copies to see if needed..

Re: Updated Engine Oil Requirement From ChryCo

Just talked to my dealer as I was driving by I also had this in the mail they're putting the new tip card on next week when I'm back in town going to be busy all week. No big deal other than the tip card stating the wrong oil weight.

Thanks for letting us know though I hadn't even checked my mail until I saw this post!

You want more confusion? My owner's manual packet includes the same addendum (0W-40) and I have a 2012 Overland v-6, that takes 5W-30 according to the owner's manual.

Re: Updated Engine Oil Requirement From ChryCo

My dealer put 5w - 40 when I had the oil changed @ 3500 miles. I called the recall number on the card Chrysler sent me and they said talk to the dealer. Anyone else have this issue? Could someone provide the SRT help phone number so I can call them. I doubt the dealer is going to say they fu'd.

Re: Updated Engine Oil Requirement From ChryCo

I was worried mine did that but apparently they did 0-40 for mine from the get go because that's what showed up in their system to put in. However, here is the SRT number for you: 1-855-778-8326

Re: Updated Engine Oil Requirement From ChryCo

Will it hurt to use 5-40? I have it in mine now after the first 3K miles, I dont think it matters too much.
