Re: Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

... I loved both - different vehicles serve a different purpose. My wife misses the overland with its much smoother drive. I love the potential of SRT but admit the Summit is nice too. I would not go through the expense just to upgrade. Wait until you would otherwise get a new one.

Re: Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

Had a 14 Overland V8, then a 15 Summit V6, traded the Summit for the SRT (all in white). I had my second child a month ago and figured I wasn't getting any younger and my boys will become increasingly more expensive as time progresses, so now was as good a time as any to finally make the move. In the last week though I've spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $2300 on parts and odds and ends for the SRT. The SRT is exponentially better for me than the Summit was.

Re: Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this. My wife says she wants to upgrade the Overland to an SRT. Normally I would jump at an opportunity like this, but with the refresh around the corner, I feel I should wait.

Why wait?? There is always going to be something a little bit better and newer. I used to be obsessed with the same thing and have grown to appreciate what I want and give two craps about it being the absolute latest and greatest (not that my SRT isn't). I guarantee that once you make the switch you'll question yourself as to why you waited so long. I viewed the vehicle as a way to maximize my utility of happiness. It has succeeded in that endeavor.

Re: Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

I'm with you, but with the new changes literally around the corner, the wait wouldn't be that bad. I'm still on debating too see what the Durango SRT will look like as well. I'd rather have a Grand Cherokee, but with my wife talking about wanting a 3rd child, we would easily outgrow our current or a new Jeep.

When the opportunity comes closer, you will definitely see me doing my research here prior to pulling the trigger. I will definitely have to find another dealer to buy from as our local dealer still has a markup on these things.

Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

I definitely hear you there!! We just had our second child a month ago and are done having kids now! The SRT is my DD and for my boys and I to go to the local car shows. My wife has the mom mobile QX60.....(still a pretty nice ride).
