Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

Just had a question,

I have a 2014 Summit and want to upgrade to the SRT...is it worth the extra $$$? I think it is and I'd do it in a heartbeat, need some justification as we just built a new house.

Thx,

Like Scott said, two different vehicles. Test drive one if you can. It's like crack you'll be back!

Re: Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

On the other hand, I thought I really wanted an SRT when I was shopping for my '14.. but as a daily driver the SRT was just not gonna do it for me.. especially being limited to a black interior (at least at that time) .. and the significant extra $$ (especially since my CDI didn't apply to an SRT) sealed it's fate..

Two different vehicles, buy the one that fits you.

Yes, do it if u can. My wife says I am happier after replacing the '14 Summit 5.7 with the SRT and I agree 😎. The only real problem I have is remembering my black lab is in the back when I "play"...don't think he's fond of getting plastered to the cargo area walls and tailgate....it's costing me extra treats 😉

Re: Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

When I was purchasing my 14 overland, my heart was really wanting the SRT but I never pulled the trigger on one. Up until last month when I got to test drive a slightly used 2015 with 2800 miles on it. It's just night and day compared to my overland and I fell in love!! Got a great deal on it and I let someone else take the huge initial depreciation hit.

Highly recommend one 👍🏼

One thing to keep in mind is a Summit and an SRT are two very different vehicles. SRT is an on road monster but not intended for off road. Summit though not a rock crawler does have off road ability. I wanted the SRT but i also needed the level of off road ability that Summit provides. So certainly no match speed wise for SRT but if you want the off road ability then v8 summit is a good compromise. Just depends on which ability you want or need more. If you dont care about off road at all then definitely get the SRT.

^^^^the SRT wide tires are far superior in beach sand than the Summits'

But seriously, i do miss the air suspension as it was a built in lift for cake oil changes

Re: Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

No Comparison ...Summit is like a lounge chair with an old lady sitting in it ..SRT is like being strapped in a roller coaster with an 18 yo !

Re: Upgrading from Summit to SRT?

I loved my 14 Summit with the 5.7L, but always wished I had gotten the SRT. Had 52,000 miles when I sold my summit. Was a great jeep, but I like the SRT much better. $20k difference tho since the summit is loaded and the SRT has to be optioned out.
