Re: Valet comment

To the OP's point of the Valets comment...

My personal philosophy is to accept AND APPRECIATE any compliment offered by someone (dont over-analyze)

At the same time, be careful of what criticisms you allow to have meaning to your life. That certainly doesnt mean to ignore, dismiss, or automatically dispute criticism....just take it...look at it...determine objectively if it applies to you. If yes...address it. If no...leave it and move on. (the most important word in all of that was "objectively")

So...in his scenario...I would do exactly what the OP did: Valet offered a compliment, OP didnt try to read into the various possible motivations, he simply said Thank you, and kept moving.

I like to summarize that line of thinking as:
Be genuinely appreciative of folks who are appreciative.

The sub-text of that would be something like:
People being nice is enough of a rarity that you should take it wherever you find it.

Re: Valet comment

I've had a few valets ask if I had a Trackhawk. A few people asked if it had a Viper motor because of the GTHAUS in open mode. The Trackhawk comments made me happy. My whole rule of modding is "OEM+". A very good friend of mine coined that term about 20 years ago. It basically means making it look like a special edition from the factory. No weird badge placement, no slammed suspension, no shitty offset on wheels, no crazy + sized wheels, no reflective stuff (sorry guys), no light up badges, no underglow kits, not bootleg color changing headlights, etc. I know a few of you guys appreciate the OEM+ style. Basically being modded without people knowing your modded. Represent!

Sounds like you're over-analyzing the situation.

Yup, i've gotten quite a few compliments on mine. Even before i let them know there's a hemi in there lol. Not saying that's a selling point but non the less its a nice option to have.

Dropped my wife off at a appointment and she told me a old timer asked her on the way in if my truck had a HEMI in it.
