Video of rev matched downshift?

I have been searching google for a video with good sound of the rev matched downshift, but all the videos I have found, no one downshifts or even talks about the downshifts.
Anyone have one?

Re: Video of rev matched downshift?

I actually thought that our Jeeps were lacking this feature until I started to play with the paddles more just the other day. I found it's only nori able when the truck has to rev a significant amount to match revs - unlike some of the BMWs I've driven where it was noticeable at any rev speed.

Re: Video of rev matched downshift?

Yep only works when using paddle shifters. Try braking and downshifting from say 100kph (62mph) down to 40kph quickly and you'll get the rev matching. Try downshifting 1 gear every 2-3 seconds. By the time you get down to 4th you'll definitely hear it.

Re: Video of rev matched downshift?

I drove a friends 2015 S4 and it was noticable on pretty much every shift. And they were very quick shifts (Dual Clutch). I was trying to see how the downshift in the ZF matched the Audi's. I wouldn't say they were obtrusive, but it seemed as though they were very exagerated.
Apparently, since people didn't even know they had it, it isn't as abrupt of an operation as the S4.

Anyone ever drive both?

I can tell you that the zf 8-speed down shift is more noticeable when you switch to sport or track mode and paddle shifting. It set the gearbox shifting to its quickest shift and firmer as well. Because on auto mode, even paddle shifting it's trying to do it slowly and smoothly.

I have driven the q5 with 3.0 tdi with the 7 speed dct and the downshift rev match is not too much difference than the jeep.

But on the Audi r8 r-tronic (6 speed single clutch) is much more noticeable and the lively exhaust note when you downshift. Even more aggressive down shifting if you set it on sport mode again firm and harsh.

So i think, for the jeep srt to make a nice downshifting note like the r8, you need a louder exhaust and set it on sport or track mode at least.
Also you have the remember, you'll notice more downshifting rev matching on 6 speed gear than the 7 or 8 speed. As there are more gear with closer ratio comparing the 6 speed have bigger ratio between the gears.
