Re: Wait time for delivery - Australia

From a Quote I have:
SRT 66500
Towbar 1200
Dealer Delivery 895
Discount 3279.17 (they offered it without question)
Sub total 65,315.83

GST 6531.58
LCT 3459.42
Sub Total 75306.53
Stamp Duty (NSW) 2870
Rego NSW Biz 570
CTP 552

TOTAL 79298.83 drive away no more to pay

This was for a car in stock that had no options.
The $77k RRP includes all the taxes inc LCT and Stamp Duty. You can see that the based price is $66,500 for an SRT, so do not let dealers BS you by adding taxes to the RRP, it wrong and also illegal.
I will be buying a SRT from this dealer as they are the only ones who followed up and treated me like a client.

Re: Wait time for delivery - Australia

Marty,
The + Onroads is correct as every state has different rego costs. I was incorrect in my inclusion of Stamp Duty, it should have been GST and LCT, not stamp duty which is a state based tax and counted as onroad costs.
Dealers cannot add LCT to the RRP of the car, buy will on the accessories or options you add to the car.
So for NSW Biz rego, it should be:
SRT 77,000
Stamp Duty 2870
Rego 570
CTP 552

Total RRP in NSW Drive away $80992

Re: Wait time for delivery - Australia

Yep, no worries ENFORCER. I didn't add Stamp Duty to my calculations, so all good.

As mentioned, this very good info.

Quick story: Many years ago, as a young bloke, my new wife and I bought a new car without really knowing anything about buying a car. After signing the deal and walking away from the Dealership I had this feeling of anxiety and the urge to vomit as I knew that we'd just been taken for a ride. That whole car buying experience was not pleasant at all and we got rid of that car ASAP as it constantly reminded us of that awful experience.

Since then I've tried to be more careful and suspicious in my car purchasing dealings, but having access to factual information for a specific type of car is Gold. Thank you.

So LCT is included in the 77K RRP

Yes, but only on the base model price. Any extras will add a 30% hit thanks to LCT.

Re: Wait time for delivery - Australia

Hey Guys,

new member from Melbourne. After 15 years of paying through the nose for performance German cars I've decided to make the jump into a Jeep GC SRT. Looking to buy/order sometime in the next 3 months.

Any recommendations on a dealer? I will be going through SGfleet but would like to see and drive a car first and have a relationship with a single dealership who is not an a-hole. Anyone to avoid?

Also any idea when the order books open for a MY15? I understand it will be soon.

MY14 orders opened Start of Feb, first ones got here in June. So earliest MY15 that could get to Aus is October, more likely though is November.
As you see order banks shut soon, so if you order a fresh one in a few weeks, it will be MY15 regardless.
