Hi guys, this is my first post here and will be my first Jeep. I wanted to say hi and let you guys know that this forum seems very informative and I hope I can learn and help others for years to come. Currently I own a Evo X turbo S2000 and up to yesterday had a 03 Cummins 3/4ton. Well since selling the pickup and trading in the evo that will pave the way for me to get into my first Jeep and SRT. I wanted to see for you guys that had cars like evo's, sti's etc and made the switch did the Jeep disappoint you in anyway?

On a separate note I have found a few SRT's in my price range (looking at 2014 and wanting Sepia) but one has an aftermarket exhaust and intake 27k miles and the other was a lemon law buyback for stalling but looks stock and clean with 13k miles. The lemon law one is the exact color and interior i wanted (Granite gray & Sepia) and I can't find it anywhere else. With this Jeep I'd like to get the maxcare lifetime warranty and was wondering if it covers buyback Jeeps or should I just avoid it altogether.
Also for the other one should I be worried about the mods and warranty?

Sorry for the long winded post but I am getting excited into getting into a Jeep :D

Thanks for your time
Tej

Aftermarket intakes and exhaust are very common. If your from the Evo crowd then you probably had exhaust work done on that. The mods are nothing at all to worry about.

Cant help you with the lemon though sorry, other than to say it will always be in the back of your mind..... "what if?"

Thanks!, ya in the evo world we had to be careful on the tunes with an exhaust and intake which would void warranty, with the Jeep I'd like to keep the warranty intact for a very long time. In any case both of the ones I was looking at sold. So now the search continues. Do any of you know of any used 2014's Granite with Sepia for sale in the midwest? I can't seem to find that color combination anywhere.

Thanks!, hopefully that it will be this weekend. I have found a lot of low mile ones with the black interior which is not bad but my Evo had cloth and with my kids it just always looked dirty lol. I may have to compromise :)

Have you sat in one yet?? I have white with black interior and it is BOSS! I love it. I'm in Oz too so haven't done a Summer in it yet but will be keen to try the vented seats on a hot day.

The black is like no other fabric interior I've seen or had in the past and doesn't get grubby easily. Mind you I am pretty rigid about no eating or dirty kids in my car (I have a 7 & 5 yr old) and keep my sh!t tidy bro.

Check em all out before getting set on colours, for me if you aren't buying new it's always better to get the quality vehicle over the colour within reason.

Just my advice mate, I hope you do get the colour way you want in the end of course!! ?

Thanks JB! I have test driven a 2015 and a 2012 which both had the black. I still have not seen the Sepia as of yet though. I agree with you on trying to find the quality Jeep first. Out of curiosity any of you guys come from the import world? If so how is the fun factor with the Jeep. When I test drove one to me it felt like a big Evo which would be perfect. :)

Heya...welcome to the club and congrats on your purchase. Just quickly answering your question about coming from turbo cars and whether the SRT disappointed in any way...not a chance!!!

I switched to a '15 SRT from back to back Subaru turbos (a Liberty GT spec B and then a Forester S-Edition) and the SRT simply eats them up for breakfast. The down low instant power and the grunt and bark of the engine brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. Sports mode is crazy and I have not toyed with track mode even after putting 4K on the clock. Thinking back to the lack of power off the mark in the two previous cars, waiting until the turbo kicked in now makes me think I should have modded the cars somewhat, but I prefer to leave mine stock for warranty...and there is nothing to be done to the SRT for me. As you will see others here make it a hobby to mod their cars and most of the results are awesome...and the 19 speaker HK Is the best sounding system I have had.

I felt a touch boxed in at first with the all black interior (coming out of grey/cream ceiling/roof colours of the subaru's) but I now usually drive with the sunroof screen opened as the glass is much better protection from the sun than on the previous cars...and the pano roof is huge. The all black interior grows on you and feels more classy now compared to the lighter interiors I have had.

There were some minor issues with the build quality but after surveying some new cars that mates have bought (other makes and models) it seems like many cars are suffering from a lower standard of build these days.

Enjoy the ride...there will be no regrets :)

Well just picked her up and she is a beast. Love it. There are a few little issues with it but they can be fixed, mainly curbed wheels(not sure how that's even possible with all these sensors) and lower portion of the bumper is all scraped up as if they ran over something. Now the car has clear bra so I think most of the damage maybe the clear bra. Are they easy to repair?

Firstly, congrats! Welcome aboard you'll never regret the purchase scraped or not.

Post some pics so we know what yr dealing with bro, with the clear bra I thought it was a film coating you can take off?? ?

Thanks I just got home with her and man is she a blast. I did a 340 mile trip back home with the cruise set on 83 with a few passes at 100 and she still did 19mpg, very comfortable and deceptively fast. I will take some pictures of her once I get her all cleaned up. So far I am really happy that I made the switch. Here is a quick picture at the dealer.
