I'm not sure if that's irony, or proof that they are serious. Both of which are not good.

Why are you complaining? They are obviously serious so they aren't "gaming", right?

Re: What are people paying for JC SRT8's?

My dealer just called to let me know that my SRT8 is at the rail yard and will be at the dealership by 10:00 tomorrow... After such a long wait, I'll believe it when I drive off in it!

Re: What are people paying for JC SRT8's?

I picked mine up today... Definitely a beast... To tie up this thread, I ended up paying $62,425 (MSRP $63,975) for mine. Hope this helps those who are in the negotiation stage .

Yea, it seems most are not including this to the overall sting of the amount. 63K X 6.25% (My state tax level) = just a hair under 4 grand.

I know, in MD there is a $300 fee for titling, plates, and registration that is added to the vehicle sale price before taxes. Then you add a 6% tax. So, a $62,425 vehicle is not $62,425. Your real time cost out the door is $66,488.50 (with no trade in, obviously).

Dealers just love to say to me during negotiations "well, we can't do anything about tax and registration fees". I tell them, yes, I know, but it STILL affects my decision on a total cost of ownership out of my pocket and whether I am going to buy! They act like you should just pretend it doesn't exist when negotiating price out the door!

Well one good thing is you can deduct the amount of a trade on the overall state tax amount, If you are indeed trading. My problem is my old '04 Armada with 75K miles is worth damn near nothing, which is why I am considering a sports car instead.
