Only asking mate not having a go at you , the mod you done sounds really good and the welds are spot on , also I am no expert with these electric cutouts I've never used them before but is there some sort of manual switch you turn if the electrics fail and the cutouts are stuck open ? Do you just get a spanner and close them manually so the police don't book you ?

I honestly don't know if pointing straight down was a bad move. I don't have the expertise, I have the same concerns.

When the cut outs fail I think I will be shit out of luck. There is no manual crank to close them. Maybe I can push them closed but I doubt it. The cutouts did come with a cover up plate so if they fail I can cover them up with the plate easily.

Hmm well I can't check my system yet still on a plane , anyone else no if you can manually override the electric cutouts if they fail electronically ?

Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

I'd imagine that they would be on a Normally Closed circuit so that if it does fail you wouldn't be able to open them. If they failed while open a tension device (spring) would ensure they went back into closed position.

I'd imagine that's how the GTHaus works but the cutout is in the muffler.

Man I got the kit from Maryland Speed which had the cheapest package for $500... (Turn downs, low pro cutouts, wireless controller) *couldn't use the turndowns may return*

http://marylandspeed.com/qtp-low-pro...66-p-5589.html

The install was $400 but I think they got over on me. I feel my total investment of $900 was not worth it honestly. But I'll suck it up. Cool feature to have.
I'm sure you guys can get a better install price.

I will say that the exhaust shop did a hell of a job though. They used either tig or mig welding. Explained it as better for stainless steel to stainless steel applications...

Ran the wires behind the heat shield, hopefully that will protect the wires.
