Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

How long does it take to install springs?

my dealership just called to tell me that they started working on it today in the morning, and it will need at least until saturday to finish (friday is a day off here) I told them no way it takes more than a 1 days work, they said it takes at least 2 full days of work, as in not waiting in line, but actually being worked on, they also told me this is the first suspension that had to take apart (yes I'm serious, this really is the only dealership in this country) so my car is the official guinea pig (people of Qatar you owe me)

I had my share of issues installing them. But a friend and I did it in about 3.5 hours. The biggest thing was just getting the first front spring done. If we hadn't removed a few nuts it would of been much quicker. But once we figured it out it went quick. Easily a 1.5-2 hour job after you do it once.

how would you and your like to visit qatar for a few days lol

in all seriousness, the 14 suspension is the same as the 12 & 13, I can't believe they haven't taken apart a single WK2 suspension yet, I am extremely uneasy about having them do it now, especially when they told me I shouldn't complain about any suspension problems after the install because the warranty won't cover that area anymore

too late now I guess

It took me 3 hours by my self with 2 beers and being my first time doing it all by myself. That dealership is terrible lol worst part is pushing down the a arm in the front and trying to work the shock out. Rears undo 3 bolts and they basically fall out

Did you take the half shaft out at all for the fronts?

No. Just tucked myself into a ball and stood on the caliper to push the a arm down and worked out the shock. It was a sight to see let me tell you, hence the reason for the beers

Is that true? Do the springs void any part of the warranty?

Lol I bet. I took apart the entire damn lower control arm and then I couldn't get the shock back in so I had to take the half shaft out. Wish I did it your way haha.

Only thing you have to be careful of is stretching out the brake line to far

Looks real good! Almost wish I would of gone with those versus a hybrid Eibach setup.
