Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

I did all that on our 2012 last summer... Upgraded a few parts, and still pretty sure I didn't spend over $350....

But my apologies, I didn't mean to be rude or come across as an elitist, I was just truly shocked. I do ALL my own work so I had no idea service costs were that high.

How do you not spend over $350 changing Rotors and Pads alone. Brembo Rotors alone are $400 Stock OEM pads for the front are $290

Even with R1 Concepts rotors and hawk HPS pads is $400 in parts.

yes it would be cheaper if i didn't do the pan upgrade etc etc.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

Bendix makes the brake pads for Chrysler / Brembo . They can be had direct under the Bendix name for less than $50 per axel and are identical to the "SRT" ones.

Centric (maker of powerslot) offers rear rotors for less than $100 each. I found them for $80 each if I remember correctly and they were much nicer than oem.

While in this situation I did use aftermarket parts, even if you want to stick with Mopar OEM, it's not hard to find those 30%-40% off online as well....

I can vouch on the Bendix info, I talked with Brembo and Bendix engineering back when I had my 06 SRT and they confirmed the link. Just branding and dealer markup.

I've used the Bendix parts on 2 SRTs and there is no difference. Same stopping power and dust.

FYI, I added a thread in the troubleshooting forum for my 2014 SRT. I will be needing a replacement transmission at 2700 miles to repair leaking cooling line fittings. More to come on that one.

Awesome thanks, glad to know I am not crazy! Do you know if they also make the rotors? Back in 05/06 when this link was found I don't think Bendix listed rotors directly but they do now...

I have always used Centric Rotors, sometimes the plain, sometimes the Power Slot depending on the budget but those Bendix rotors look a LOT like the stockers now that I am looking closely.

I'm not sure on rotors, I always went wholesale OEM. That was through Mopar super center and I don't think they are around anymore.

I was at CES the past couple days... The Uconnect app and platform will be updated heavily this year. They showed me the ability to locate your vehicle, show diagnostics, send destinations/maps to the vehicle all from the app.

The bigger gripe I stated with them was the response time for locking/unlocking/starting vehicle from the app. They agreed that it was about 1.5 minutes.

The reason for this is that once the signal is received by the car the Uconnect system has to boot up... The part that controls the remote features are in the apps section of the radio. If you have ever tried to open the apps after starting the vehicle you see how long that takes.

Uconnect plans to reorder the boot order in order to decrease response time. With these changes and additions Uconnect subscription may be worth the $14.99

Will those updates be downloadable for current models?

"Should" be. Although the roll out to previous systems will be staggered.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

We don't have remote start here in AUS anyway, but the other updates/apps may be usable.
