Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

Took the chance that we will have no more snow and got the summer tires installed.

Had the black chrome spider monkey rims powdercoated satin black and added the "SRT" caps (sprayed black). Shop did a great job - appreciate everyone's recommendation to powder vs. plasti-dip

Went with Yoko Parada Spec-X 295/45 so far seems like a much better ride than the stock Pirelli

old comparison image for comparison.

I had them done myself locally. I had them media blasted and then powdered and cleared locally. Pm me and ill hook u up with some info.

Looks great. Not that it matters, but did you weigh the wheels before/after?

Can't say I did - the Yoko's were 114 (heavy load) vs. the 110 Pirelli - but loading them in the jeep they felt like a lighter tire and looking at Tire Rack has the weights of all these online - these are 2 lbs lighter per tire than stock. Powercoat probably added 0.01 lbs

Reflective caliper wrap done. The material, after heated, stretched, and applied... Takes on a foil like consistency. I can see how it will definitely hold up under extreme heat. Has a glow to it even during the day that makes the calipers pop. I'm happy with the results.

CLSTECH,

Looks awesome! Can you please provide the details on the product you used? And please update as to how it holds up. And maybe a daytime shot? I'm intrigued and may want to try this. How hard was the application??

http://www.metrorestyling.com/Red-Br...3m-ref-red.htm

2' x 3' was enough to do all 4 calipers, best way to do it is in pieces sides then front last. Applied brembo decals back on top after installation.

Color is almost identical to the stock brembo red. Like any vinyl work it takes time and patience, not difficult persay.

I'll take a daytime shot soon.
