Yeah I'm not a wizard with it yet either, have botched it a couple times.

If you mess it up is it a pain to remove?

Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

It's not easy to remove it cleanly without basically washing it down with APC which you probably won't want to do since this stuff is literally the last step even after tire dressing. Just have to use it a few times to get the hang of it. Also make sure the wheel is completely dry...blow out the lug holes too and everything...water drips really mess it up.

Results are definitely worth the hassle though, if the massive brake dust issue bothers you like it does me.

What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

I hate the brake dust. I wash my Jeep and the rims look like great....for about 20 miles.😔

For the first couple of month, I would wash the truck thoroughly (Adam's deep wheel cleaner to get through the insane brake dust), and within a wheel the front wheels especially would be pure dull charcoal gray from dust (LA traffic doesn't help).

I have actually not washed the truck (it's criminally dirty everything else) in almost 6 weeks and the front wheels are only now starting to show a little dust on the spokes...and the red calipers are still bright and have no dust on them at all.

It's frankly amazing...I have no idea how this stuff works but it must set up some kind of repellent charge.

HIGHLY recommended for the $16 at Autozone for the big can, which I estimate would last at least 4-5 washes. Completely eliminated my dilemma of considering sacrificing stopping power to cut back on the dust some.

EDIT: Note that I live in LA where it never rains...I have no idea if it would hold up to actual weather, as we have none, regrettably.
In the CTSV community, we've been using this wheel protectant for a long time for the brake dust issue. If you can find any left Advance Auto Parts sells them for $3 a bottle. I stocked up uploadfromtaptalk1436714248893.jpguploadfromtaptalk1436714309108.jpguploadfromtaptalk1436714341913.jpg

I might. Do they provide comparable stopping power? How much do they cut down on the dust?
It'd be tons cheaper to spray the wheel protectant talked about earlier

Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

Some dust. Id say atleast 500 srt owners here have bought the hawk hps sports and stoptech rear pads from blackops. Proven performace and tou dont need some cheap armourall crap. Armourall was crap imho. Stained the wheels and i like to have never got it off. Didnt work for me either...wheels still get nasty.

Thanks. I had a feeling about that. I'd much prefer cleaner pads

Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

Everyone's experience will be different I guess...I was super skeptical of the Armor All, I usually consider them the absolute bottom of the barrel in products.

However with proper wheel prep and allowing it to dry sufficiently after application, my experience has been at least 80-90% reduction in dust even 6 weeks after washing and applying, and I haven't seen the haze some have witnessed.

I would certainly try the $10 (or cheaper, if you buy the small can) solution before going with new pads. I had the pads ready to buy myself, and the more I read the more I saw mixed reviews on whether stopping power was sacrificed in favor of lower dust, so I figured I had nothing to lose by seeing if the wheel protectant actually lived up to the reviews. For me, it has.
