Got a piece of warped carbon fiber trim replaced (passenger door). Took about 45 min once the interior guy got started.
It was nice walking in with the TSB... I have an early build '12, so the first replacement last year took some time with photos being sent to Chrysler, ordering parts, and all.
I plastidipped the Jeep emblem on the front and back as well as the SRT emblem on the back. All in red. It came out great. I started with 2 coats gun metal, then 1 coat white, then 2 coats red.
Tinted front driver and passenger windows. Tinted rear taillights, break light and markers. Vinyl wrapped jeep and grand cherokee emblems. (Black Gloss).
dropped her of today at the wrap/paint shop, getting the chrome (badges, window sills and chrome rings) painted black, and the roof wrapped black, hopefully they will have it for me by tomorrow night, pics will soon follow
also got my Lamin-x charcoal black rear light tints, but decided against installing them ... for now
Got the wheels back from powder coat today. Next up adding the alpine grill and blacking out the chrome window trim. Can't wait to wash it but want to give it a day or 2 with the fresh powder coat.
I put on my new philips head light bulbs last night. My hands look like I got into a fist fight with a rock wall. I have the fog lights ready to go but did not feel like screwing with them after the hour and half spent on head lights and bleeding hands lol.
Ordered the Borla ATAK axleback, BWoody CAI, and Diablosport I1000DCX. Also communicated with thefastman about modding my throttle body. Now to go tell my wife why the MasterCard bill just asploded...
thats some list! every single mod mentioned are on my next to do list (except the diablo until they release a 2014 tune) are you sending your TB's to be ported, or will you buy ready ones? and what size are you going? I'll keep an eye out for your posts :thumbsup:
Yeah, I've been building a wish list ever since I found this forum. I had a slow day at work yesterday, so after listening to you tube clips of the Borla, I went for it. And I thought, "well shit, I can't just put on an exhaust without tuning the ECM..." And then I thought, "well shit, if I have a tuner, I might as well get an intake." And so it goes.
I had a little email discourse with thefastman and he says that punching the throttle body out to 84mm and shaving the shaft down 3.5mm is just what these engines want. I'm sending my TB to him and praying it doesn't rain for a week as I'll be committed to my motorcycle until it gets back.
Anybody know a decent powder coater in the MetroWest MA area? Those Borlas are awful shiny.
I think you would be happy with the Borla's. Normal driving with all the insulation in these Jeeps it's not loud inside. I haven't gotten to hear mine in person since adding the Kook's headers, but was told they didn't think it was loud enough. Even with the headers. LOL. I'm sure I'll be happy, along with my neighbors. My Merc is actually louder than the Jeep with the Borla ATAK.
