Ah, so a custom pcm....hmm

I know u had the Corsa and wanted louder, meaner or something like that? The ATAK certainly seems like a good call. My problem is I am head over heals for that ridiculous yet glorious full exhaust sound from Kooks headers and a cat-back but it really does jack the cost...but then again, what's a few grand more, right

Anyway, thanks and glad to no longer be a poser

Yes you get the PCM and you buy a CMR tune file from one of the famous tuners. Either Jerseyboy or Diablotoona. I had Johan do my tuning for my WK1, so I can only speak about him. He is great to deal with.

Yes! I had the Corsa but wanted louder. Atak was the way to go.

I love Kooks headers. Had them on my WK1. Quality is A1 with kooks. Def the way to go.

Congrats again!

Re: What did you do to your WK2 SRT today?

Thanks Joe, found the Hemifever thread in the vendors area.

My challenge is that to go with headers/hiflo cats/no cats ($2.8-3.5k installed) you then need to do the 2nd ECU tune ($.9-1.1k) to get the gains so now were talking $4-5k ish for what, 15-20 ish AWHP? Makes you stop and think about that equation.

Part of me says stay pat with the no-tune bolt-ons and take their 15-20 ish AWHP at a cost of <$2.5k installed, using Borla ATAK pricing, and if I want more fun use the above $4-5k to pay for a chunk of the cost to supercharge it....and then if I SC it do I just b happy with low/normal boost and risk the motor or pony up some more benjamins and forge it? One mod at a time....

Wayne

Cant speak about Hemifever but I have heard of him.

Yeah headers are expensive. I didnt do it for the HP because its really not worth the money. Its just such an awesome sound. It was worth it in every aspect for me in that sense.

In my opinion Wayne, I would not put boost on a stock 6.4 motor. Look at it this way, there is a reason why SRT took a 6.4 and with different internals, came out with a 6.2 with a S/C on top for a Hellcat.

Now I am sure you will have ppl that will come in and argue against that but I would not do it.

On a stock 6.1, mild boost? Yea. A stock 6.4? No. lol

We sound very similar in taste and reasoning, what a curse

Ya, the 6.4 is a nicely stroked 5.7l and then to pressurize that with an SC? a little too thin for my comfort...plus hearing of Lankness' SC'd 6.4 pop from a failed hollow shaft lifter...too much luck involved for me

That sounds expensive

My last 4 days working on it:

Had a Cors cat back installed. Love the sound for what I am looking for...mellow under normal driving with no drone at 70-90 mph under load...but wow really opens up after 4500 rpms and sounds much throatier and to be honest how it should stock. Then do the ATAK or Haus....

Finished lower rings, front chrome removed.

IAT sensor grommet fixed on aFe intake. It had slightly slipped out so I glues the grommet and ensures the sesor housing sat properly in the grommet. HUGE difference...temps were spiking at idle and wasnt sure why...well this was it. FYI I have the aFe Momentum Pro Dry S
Now getting the 5-7 degrees about ambient when moving, and 20-40 spike at idle (although this has gone down since is was sealed properly, max 28 degrees). 70 degrees ambient.

Did full interior and reverse LED conversion...must do IMO...have H11 fogs aND a couple others z

I'm going to wrap my heat shield in DEI product for even just a degree of difference. Plus in the pictures below, anyone have ideas on how we could more effectively and efficiently into the filter? Just throwing a thought out there. The two pics are of the filter removed looking down being the driver headlight.
