Lol. I owned a Challenger, and the windows freezing shut wouldn't let me open the door in the winter. There is no a-pillar, so the window has to drop for the door to open. Besides, the Charger has 4 doors, so I am not losing much when I trade the Jeep on it.

I always say hopefully because plans change... That's if I can order one also. These cars are very sought after, and will be ordered out for a while I imagine.

I think you are getting your information from either the wrong source or a very limited source. Range Rovers are pretty rare around here. The mid size Cherokee sells quite well here and the Grand Cherokee does fair but there are a lot of Grand Cherokees sitting on dealer lots here too. My dealer has at least 30 Grand Cherokees sitting on his lot right now. You have your blinders on if you think any place in Michigan is doing quite well right now. There may be a few here and there doing well but that is certainly far from the norm or majority. There were even a McDonalds and Wendy's that went out of business near me. How often do you see that?

Oh, and by the way, Oakland county is only a couple of miles from me. It is mostly smoke and mirrors living on a lot of credit. Nothing to be impressed about.

I see you're in Fenton, which I don't really consider "Metro Detroit" as I stated in the first post. How often are you in Ann Arbor, Clarkston, Brighton, Rochester, Bloomfield Hills, Milford, Oakland Twp? Those places are doing fine. How often are you in Chicago? I'm not sure what you're debating here. I'm also not sure what your anecdote about a small Jeep dealer in a tiny GM enclave has to with the landscape of SRT trade-ins in major metropolitan areas.

Obviously more often than you. And for the record I am 66 miles from Detroit, 30 miles from Ann Arbor, and about 20 miles from Brighton. And no is quite a bit a Chrysler area as we are just a short distance from Auburn Hills and Chrysler headquarters. I guess I would like to know your definition of doing fine? Again my dealer is not a small Jeep dealer by any means. If you would like to go the next town over, Grand Blanc, very few dealers are bigger than Joe Serra (yes I know it is Al Serra but his dad died a couple of years ago) in the entire country. And for the record I grew up in Allen Park so know the downriver area very well. In fact my dad before he passed away worked at two different Chrysler plants in Trenton and my mom was an executive secretary at the Desoto/Dodge plant in Detroit.

Anyone can appear to be doing fine. Just max out the credit cards and/or take out the 10 year vehicle loan. Oh and another speciality in Michigan before the real-estate crash was the only pay the interest mortgage. Sure faked out a lot of people on how well they were doing. The local GM dealer who is no longer in business was doing a booming business in balloon payment car loans too. He also owned the local Dairy Queen which is no longer in business either. I would love to mention his name as I know you would know it but am not into doing character assignations.

I was not looking to start an argument but was telling you I live in the area and all is not what it appears to be. Yes, a few are doing well (mostly at the expense of others) but the majority are not. (1 in 6 Michigan residents are getting their food from a food bank and that number does not include ETB/foodstamps) And again, not looking for an argument, but since Michigan has become a right to work state things have gotten worse. The local joke around here is that the last person to leave Michigan, please turn out the lights. There is a long waiting list to get a U-haul truck to move out of state.

and to answer your question specifically: You asked why you were seeing so many for sale in my area? I answered that stating facts. Because the economy is poor.

Re: What do people upgrade to from the SRT Jeep?

I live in lansing area and there are 2 '14s, mine and a white one... A couple 12/13's. But they owned by college kids... It is a rare site up here... I was in western Canada past week, and saw one each day, and 3 in Vancouver... I was socked

As far as michigan it is not Detroit, western michigan is booming, mid michigan is slowly coming back and the northern burbs have money.... South east DTW and flint are the troublespots... But you can find any of the big three high end cars with very low miles, all demos or PEP cars, as long as they have less than 7500 miles, they sell they as new, but discounted... My father-in law had a new one everyone six months (granted that was pre bankrupt days...) but still good deal

I promise you parts of Michigan are doing 100x better than your dead Genesee County UAW enclave. Your view is clearly distorted. My folks live in Rochester Hills, where Range Rovers and SRT-8s are a common occurrence. In downtown Chicago, Range Rovers are on every block.

Funny you bring this up, I was doing some research and was surprised to find myself in the top 10-5%. You may surprisingly be the same...

Re: What do people upgrade to from the SRT Jeep?

I just got out of my ML63 with pp into my SRT. TONS of similarities between the respective chassis'. The almost 100 hp difference is not worth the $40,000 plus price difference. My 14 summit and my 14 SRT payments together are within $100 month of the ML...

And the build quality was not $40k better...

Just my $.02c
