Re: What I Want Most from the WK2 SRT8

I want it to be lighter as well. Weight is the enemy. I do not need radar controlled cruise control or a power lift hatch.

I wish they would have built a low compression bullet proof bottom end that the aftermarket could work wonders with.

YES - Agreed 100%. If I want to tow I will get an F150 for $1000 off of Craiglist for a vehicle that is built for it.

If I want to haul my family and my boat to the shore with 4 kids I will get an Overland...

If I want to drag race with 3 car seats in the back down the highway with my hair on fire I will get the Jeep SRT8. (Up to 60 mph of course)

My wants - the fastest SUV on the planet. Period. Focus on weight and focus on power.

Drag racing with car seats tisk tisk tisk lol

And I feel like if your hair was on fire you'd immediately crash due to the sheer pain of your scalp burning lol

This forum is anonymous right?

Anyhow my oldest son (when he was 3 and we had the 06 SRT8) would ask, while on the way to pre-school can we hit "light speed". So we would hit light speed....again up to the posted speed limit and obeying all traffic laws.

Pretty funny to roll up to a light with the 3 car seats and dust just about anything...(not with kids in the car of course)

Re: What I Want Most from the WK2 SRT8

Having never driven the WK2 SRT8 it's tough to say what it might need but having owned what, in it's time, was the fastest SUV on the planet, a Cayenne Twin Turbo, it looks like the only thing the WK2 SRT8 is lacking is a state of the art transmission.

The Cayenne literally defined the modern performance SUV category and when people asked what it was like my simple response was, "It defies the laws of physics". While not being the fastest "vehicle" on the road it's ability to accelerate, corner and brake 5000 lbs at the level of a world class sports car were simply unheard of at the time. If the WK2 SRT8 can match that performance envelope, which it seems to be able to, and do it at half the price I don't see how anyone can find any fault with it.

Re: What I Want Most from the WK2 SRT8

Interesting...I had a drive in the Cayenne TT and it was indeed fast. The Jeep, in terms of power was very similiar except the Porsche was way more refined...100 felt like 50. The Jeep was just raw and you heard it roar...the Cayenne was just more of a woosh vs. the thunder of the Jeep.

My Cayenne TT was an '04 with and without the "S" power pack (added it when the 450 HP just wasn't enough )

Same here, in addition to the Charger/300C style touchscreen radio.
