What Radar Detector is everyone using?

What radar do you have? How do you mount it? And are you happy with your current radar? I'm currently in the market after canceling my order for the Passport Max. Please include a pic if you have a good mount!!

I installed my passport max yesterday. It works really well. You can't even tell it's using the suction mount. It's hardwired to the mirrors power. Search the forums where someone posted a DIY mirror mount. That's what I did and it works flawlessly.

Right now I have Passport 9500 but have a passport max on order. I'm still considering the valentine or the Passport 9500ci with radar jammers. The 9500 works really well but I'm ready for the next level.

Re: What Radar Detector is everyone using?

I roll with the Escort Redline & Blinder HP905. I used a little tail light tint (not as transparent as window tint) and a made a custom mount to conceal it. The Blinders are the smallest & easiest to conceal. If you go the Escort or Beltronics route check out the 'StickyCup' mount. Didn't work in my setup b/c of how I wanted to disguise it.

If you are looking to get the best price check out bestradardetectors.net and email them for a deal.

9600ix. Surprised that anyone would even consider the antiquated '90s Valentine One.

Valentine One is antiquated because it lacks the software and hardware found in the Escort 9500 to screen out false alerts, but in testing its range isnt too far off that of the current champion the Escort RedLine. Most Radar testers like Radar Roy acknowledge that most detectors with the farthest range will have frequent false alarms (redline, valentine one). The only detector so far reviewed to have class leading range PLUS the ability to process and remove false alarms is the new Escort Passport Max. Its only drawback is that it is detectable by radar detector detectors (found in states where detectors are illegal like Virginia). I have a Passport Max on order. Frankly, the Valentine One's false alarms arent tol intrusive and I like having directional arrows.

Re: What Radar Detector is everyone using?

My brother in law has the 9500ci on his 14 srt and he thinks he is invisible. He swears he has been hit with laser at 90mph plus several times and has never been pulled over. Even his wife couldn't believe it trooper just looked at his radar gun like it was broken.

Re: What Radar Detector is everyone using?

Hooked up a Escort Passport Max tonight... my son ordered it but he is on vacation so I'll have a chance to use it this week. Some really nice updated features vs my 9500ix...

Re: What Radar Detector is everyone using?

I own a Valentine One and in my opinion it kills everything I have tried, including a Passport 9500ix. That is to say, the arrows MORE than make up for things. It's great knowing where the cop is. it's huge to me.

I have written several blogs about mounting mine etc if interested.

I was going to drop some coin and go higher end passport with laser jammers etc but then I thought... umm.. no. Why drop another 2000-3000 on a system? I don't speed everywhere I go as it is, so for me, the V1 is best. There is a reason it's been kicking butt for so long.

Yes...it won't be. Because of how the Max is shaped compared to others (thickness) they are unable to make it work. That is per their rep whom I've now called twice.
