Well, that I'll agree with. I have some wild stories myself about different dealerships in NY. But, with 2 to 3 thousand dealerships nationwide, there's ALWAYS another dealership willing to make a deal, even locally.

Summer '09, my buddy was considering the GTR, and requested my help. I compiled a list of some local dealerships who had them. Pulled up to one in Queens NY driving my friends M/B SL550. They had a Gun Metallic Premium sitting out front on the sidewalk. We get out and start looking it over. Immediately one of the sleazemen comes outside.
S-"Can I help you?"
Me -"Can we test drive it, or does that have to be pre-scheduled"
S-"I'm sorry, we don't allow test drives on the GTR"
My friend-"That's nuts! I'm not dropping 85 Large on ANY car without first driving it"
S-"Actually, it's 95 large
Me-"Is the sales manager available?
S-"He'll tell you the same thing, but......"
M/F-" I think we're done here...."
One week later, I arranged a test drive with a pre-agreed upon sale price at $2k under MSRP at a Long Island NY dealer.
Two weeks after that, on a Friday after work, we went back to the Queens dealer with the new GTR, and rubbed their faces in it. And of course their GTR was still there, collecting dust.
