That was the original number given. Due to the QC and the issues that have been ironed out the number will definitely be under 2500.

I believe that they will only produce 2300 SRT8's ( as indicated by my dealer).

Vehicles go on/off restriction each and every month. Once a certain number of orders are scheduled in a given month, the order banks are closed until the following month.

They've already built more than 1200 Jeep SRT vehicles for the U.S. market. With 6 months of production to go they'll easily meet their original (and unchanged) goal of 3,800 units.

Re: When Could I Expect Delivery of my SRT8

I ordered back on June 16, 2011 and still only have a VON number. It may be due to the fact that I am in Canada and in a smaller city. I gave up waiting for that one and after an exhaustive search and with a huge amount of help from Milous, I was able to secure one at another dealership only 250 km away from me. It is on a railcar about 4 days away. Unfortunately or fortunately, I will be in Disneyland for the next 9 days so the jeep will have to wait for me finally.

VON does not guarantee an order will be produced. It is merely a way for the manufacturer and dealer to track the order that was placed prior to a VIN being assigned (approved orders are assigned a VIN at some point before being slotted for production). There are dealers out there who placed orders, provided customers VONs, and the found out that they were not going to get the number they ordered. The dealer I got mine from indicated that they had 5 Sold orders in the system and only one was approved.

About two weeks if I remember right.

Really? Are you in a small market? The dealer where I ordered mine said the first allocation was hard to get, but that if Jeeps are getting ordered now most if not all are getting accepted. I just can't imagine Chrysler is leaving 4 sold orders hanging out there without accepting them, it just doesn't make sense.

Yep, In a smaller market in the midwest. The information from the dealer was current as of the end of November (mine was delivered on december 1) Perhaps things have changed in the last month or so. The dealer I got mine from has 3 Jeep stores in a 50 mile radius.

You are right, once allocation is hit then those models go on restriction for that month. Right now Rubicons are constrained (t-case, wheel/tire supplies).

I would never question you, but your info vs mine isn't in the same ballpark. I was told under 1000 built and room for production for a max of 2500. A few months back the factory was only able to turn out an average of 6 per week.(according to my source) And yes Milous I know you have more and probably better sources I think I offered you the dinner of your choice just to pick your brain for an hour
