Re: who is going to buy it?

I agree, some people like different things and that's cool. I respect wanting to fly under the radar and not be a target in your car. I just wish SRT would have came out with options. Maybe a race package and a towing group package. Sportier race look with center exhaust and lowered stance for one and towing group and less flashy look for the other. I just feel it was us race folks who made this thing an icon and we should have been considered a bit more in the overall practicality of this thing. Just my .02

Did they chump-up on funds and slap a Overland 5.7 bumper on there? Interior looks great, but I really didn't see the problem with the WK SRT interior. So what the dash wasn't leather, it's not like slept on the damn thing. Basically SRT got away from the Baddest SUV on the planet mentality and catered to all the practical people, but gave an ok front end and 6.4 HEMI and called it an SRT. Oh and those fu#$ing rims blow too! Get the interior redone on the WK SRT and stick a cam in it and you'll be owning WK2 SRT's on the regular. I know how I felt when I saw the WK SRT at the autoshow in 05 and I have none of the same feelings here, and I grew up around performance cars all my life, so I'd like to think I have an eye for something that'll turn heads, and this WK2 isn't gonna get the same head snapping looks. I love cars that distance themselves from the regular, that's what makes them special and eventually classics. This one will not do that until maybe they see the gripes and change it during the 3rd year face lift. Maybe I'll consider it then.
I think you're entitled to your opinion. But.......
When you see how the new one embarasses the old one on the track and elsewhere, you might grow to like it.
The black one looks absolutely killer and everyone that I talked to at a 70 car Modern Mopar meet thought the new Jeep looked KILLER. Some said that's their next vehicle in fact!.
I've even had people who aren't into these cars, send me emails asking if I've seen the new Jeep SRT8 and how hot they thought it looked.

I love the WK SRT8. However, like everyone, had to change a few things to make it the way I like it.
I'm not LOVING the Red WK2 SRT8 (Sorry Scott), but the black one is absolutely Stunning and will definitely be turning heads.
I've yet to see the Silver one, but hopefully that video of the Silver one beating down the WK will show up soon enough to give me a good look.

Re: who is going to buy it?

To Scott's and other's points about the rear end, the former generation SRT8's are primarily differentiated by the center exhaust and large tips, with lesser visual impact perhaps from the lower valance and wider rubber. Otherwise, it's only the skirts, front air damn, and SRT8 badging.

That said, I agree, the prior editions just looked bad ass in a stealth sorta way. Someone deemed it a take your lunch money and steal your girl friend posture.

Some minor tweaks and the 2012 could have the same thing if that's what one is seeking. Note that major tweaks for the SRT8 crowd, at least on JG, are analgous to barely breaking a sweat.

Fuggetabout mods to the exterior, I can't wait for the first engine upgrades to that kick arse 6.4L. It's gonna be a rumble.

Carry on.

Re: who is going to buy it?

Hey, just to stir the pot, I'm one of those who did not like the WK STR8! Looked too boxy, the center exhaust is too boy racer, the solid rear axle and truck like suspension geometry makes it great in a straight line but simply a high power truck in the twistys the interior was cheap looking and feeling and it couldn't tow anything significant. It's an SUV, it needs to perform double duty like pulling my race car or race boat. Don't take it personally if you own/love the WK SRT8, my comments are not about you, just the vehicle.

All of these things were addressed in the WK2 SRT8, that's why it's on my "future vehicle" list, the WK SRT8 never was. Oh, and I've owned the premier performance SUV, the Cayenne twin turbo S, the WK SRT8 isn't in that league, the WK2 SRT8 is.

Re: who is going to buy it?

I can say with high level of confidence, there will be no affilicate pricing on the WK2 SRT8. Frankly, there will be minimal discounting, if at all. Oh, there will be creedy dealers asking for MSRP ++++. There will be "must have now" buyers with a perference towards, I want to be the first, and I do not care what I pay for that pleasure.

Re: who is going to buy it?

Everything looks great. Wheels ruin the Jeep. They needed 21 or 22's on this. They look tiny with a big beast like this. I love the WK SRT8 setup and wheels better.
