Winter Rubber on OEMs?

Hey all. I'm looking for a list of what winter tires will fit our 20" spider monkeys. I'd like to go with Blizzaks but TireRack is telling me none will fit. Any one have any recommendations?

Re: Winter Rubber on OEMs?

I put 275/45R20 Pirelli Scorpion "winter" on my stock Goliath wheels last winter, I just picked up Factory Reproduction wheels with the same specs as OEM . The size and the performance is fantastic. The tire is minimally stretched, no issues at all.

Re: Winter Rubber on OEMs?

I mounted some Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV studded tires in a 265 50 20 on the stock spider monkeys.

Re: Winter Rubber on OEMs?

Hey thanks. I'm going with the Hakkapeliitta R2s. Got decent reviews and can get them locally. Hopefully will have them on in a week!

Went with the Pirelli ice & snow 295/45 20s on Goliath wheels. Rides alot better than the factory run flats

Ha. I don't think there's anything worse than the POS run-flats. I looked at the Ice & Snow, but just couldn't give Pirelli any more money. If you get a chance, can you let us know how they perform for you?

I too went with the Scorpian Ice and Snow and we just got our first bit of snow in Toronto. (Poor guys in Buffalo) She handled it like she was on asphalt. She is a beast in the snow!!

Same here - went with 295s on Spider reps - matte black - in Toronto as well. Seemed to work well but didn't push it.

I have the Nokian Hakkapeliitta studded on one Grand Cherokee the 2009 and Nokian Nordman studded tires on the other grand Cherokee the 2000. Been pleased with both.Stopping is fantastic even on wet ice.

Running the Pirelli Snow and Ice (295/45R20) and they are fantastic, has been a mix of freezing rain/sleet/snow here and they have feel very solid on the road.

Re: Winter Rubber on OEMs?

This will be my second winter on the Pirelli Scorpions & replica wheels. Great traction & smooth ride. I've attached a pic of the Scorpion & replica wheel on the left & the stock run-flat & OEM wheel on the right.
