Re: Winter Tires- summary thread

Just ordered new set of winter tires, for some reason ice and snows are not available, I used them for three seasons. They are Pirelli scorpion winters, tread looks more aggressive than ice and snows, I can report back when I use them this winter

Yes, I can't find the Ice and Snow tires which is why I went with the "winter" from them in stock size. Check ebay.

Winter Tires- summary thread

Just got them $1350, shipped, balanced and mounted....that's after $60 rebate through Pirelli. They are a newer tire for winter than ice and snow. I got OEM size. I wonder if they are not making ice and snows for our OEM size anymore?

Re: Winter Tires- summary thread

Ice and Snow no longer lists the 295/45 size, on the "Winter" tire shows it. Must be poof, gone

They are legal in the states where they are actually needed at times, rather than going with chains.

But agreed, for typical drivers, they aren't really needed.

Worse, many of the dealer installed studs have the bad habit of coming out of the socket at high speeds. Only the Nokian factory studs avoid this and have awe inspiring top speed ratings to my knowledge. The Nokians are quite noisy, worse than any others I've used, so buy em only if you really drive enough in horrific cold ice covered roads enough to benefit from the difference.

They didn't have them last either, but they do have them in 295/40/20. This is what I have on fr Goliath's

Re: Winter Tires- summary thread

They look like they have a more aggressive tread than the ice and snows, can't wait to try them out

Re: Winter Tires- summary thread

Hi everyone, I got a 2014 WK2 a couple months ago and have a set of 20X9 SRT reps with 275-40-20 Blizaks from my old SRT8. I talked with a tire store today, and they advised not to run them as they are almost 6% smaller and could badly affect ride quality. Anyone else think that they will be too small and affect the ride quality badly?
