ok...Ill start

6.4 w/ at least a 6 speed tranny w/sport and tour modes, 4wd with partime 4 lo

air suspension, 22" wheels, VES for both backseat occupants, command view roof, sporty interior...maybe painted body color instead of the god aweful wood or aluminum.

Ill add more as I think of it......

Deeper and wider cup holders, Sirius replay options including song alert. Heated steering wheel, A/C seats, One more position on door position holder when opened (2 is not enough), Lightweight airless spare, so no need for run flats. This is a wish list, right?

I see no reason for any sort of low range in our transfer case. If its setup right with a sport suspension, ground clearance will preclude any possible offroad use, just like the current ones. I would absolutely love to see mechanical limited slip diffs though. The electronic crap sucks in the snow.

We definetly need at least the 392 to keep up with the X6M and Cayenne Turbo S. If they're serious about competing with the Euros, since they already killed GM (TBSS) and Ford (Raptor), they can force feed it. A DSG gearbox wouldn't hurt either, since they have access to the box from Ferrari. I'm wondering if the WK2 chassis can handle the 8.4L V10. An SRT10 would totally annihilate those damn yuppies.

Airride would definetly be nice, to allow for handling prowess without the kidney buster ride. And since Chrysler likes to take hand me down brakes, the 8 pot fronts from AMG or the 6 pots from the Z06 would be an improvement over the current 4 piston Brembos. But don't skimp this time and use rubber lines with performance brakes! Use proper braided stainless flex lines on the SRTs Brembos!

Also, very important; fortify the chassis! The current chassis flexes like a wet noodle. I have cracked side panels on both sides of my truck from the chassis bending. Use subframe connectors or braces. Don't be cheap. $5 worth of steel per truck is cheaper then replacing 6,000 quarter panel trims a year.

If its possible, i'd also like to see the rear seats moved back. With the thick SRT seats, theres zero space in the current backseat. The VES is absolutely useless if you don't have kids because you can't fit a decent sized person back there.

And how about a stronger AC outlet? This current inverter blows its breaker and turns off if you use it with decent equipment. It can't handle a vacuum, a welder, a decent sized drill or anything else that I need it for. And add one to the front seat, in the console, too.

I got plenty more minor things (wideband, better gauges, stronger drivetrain, etc), but these are the major things.

I'm not a current owner but I'm a possible WKII owner so I hope you don't mind me posting. I DIDN'T buy an SRT because of some of these following gripes, for me the current SRT was too close to useless (for me and most Australians) to warrant serious consideration.

1. Removable lower section to the front spoiler for us clowns who want to take our SRT's onto the beach or fire trails.
2. Low range would be a boon but not an absolute neccesity...... maybe a 7 speed DSG with an extra low 1st gear? :)
3. NO black grainy plastic over the wheel arches!
4. A gearbox that doesn't change up automatically when the rev limiter is reached.
5. The ability to tow equal or greater than the rest of the GC range without the need to resort to exhaust modifications or ugly downturned tip remedies.
6. Switchable to 2WD for ease of warranty-voiding burnouts or dyno tuning :)
7. And of course, adjustable height and stiffness electronic air suspension - but only if it's RELIABLE and the airbags are shielded from foreign object damage (ie, not Land Rover rubbish!)

All in all, a more "usable" slightly less highway focused SRT is what I crave.

Totally agree on all points made by Ben. Especially the highlighted ones.

I am against paddle shifters. Have tried them out on both Mercs and BMW's. There's no feel in it. Would rather have a proper manual transmission.

Depends on how many goodies they decide to add. The WK2 runs about the same price as the WK, so the SRT8 should be around the same area. My 08 stickered for $47,375, loaded, so figure around there.

If they add more goodies the price will go up. For the right combination of mechanicals and higher quality parts, I'd have no problem with a $55k pricetag. No higher though, or they lose most of the advantage over the Europeans.

It's an efficiency thing. Engines are basically air pumps and not all are created equal (not a slant on the Mopar engine but it's an aging design now).
I wouldn't realistically expect over 500hp without forced induction on the 6.4. The new 5.0L Fords are supercharged to make that kind of power.
Anyway, this is a want thread and I think the OP would like to keep it concise, if we want to discuss this stuff another thread should be made. :)

I'd definetly like the forced induction available from Mopar. Can't be dropping $8k all at once, so working it into the financing would be way better.

And add on more aggressive styling to go with it. Hood scoops, fender vents, rear wing, big ass flared fenders. You know, all the crap I like sticking on, except molded in as part of the body parts. ;)

OMG -- this thread is like therapy. Strangely I wish I made this post before the SRT Engineer called me last week to ask some questions!! Damn!

1) adjustable driving settings (luxury, normal, sport, track) like Ferrari has on their Manetto knob. This changes several factors such as suspension, traction control, gear change speed, performance to pre-determined settings. Of course, allow these settings to be 'tuned' ;)

2) valet mode --> push a button and it's 350hp maybe 1st & 2nd gear only to 3500 rpm. Like limp mode only on demand!

3) Upgrade MyGIG to use iTunes synchronization. Forget the USB crap -- let MyGIG sync with my iTunes just like an Apple TV does and lose the iPod dongle. Damn!

4) better aerodynamics -- close the body gaps, door gaps, streamline the body somewhat (do something about the roof rails please). Perhaps work an under-carriage tray? Along with this, consolidate the antenna situation >> mine has 3 -- a standard whip, Sirius Radio & Sirius TV.

5) Upgrade option packages for performance
a) upgraded Brembo brakes + better sway links + non run-flat tires
b) forged 392
c) 2wd option
d) true limited slip diffs
e) coil-over shocks

6) Sunroof delete option

7) Use more composite materials to lower the weight (also increases price).

8) At least one more interior color choice or what about some options for the inserts? I'd love deviating stitching on Porsches . . .

9) Serialized Plaques -- they build roughly 3000 of these per year, why not number them!
9a) Special Editions -- commemorate something!?

10) Add a 2nd wheel choice or finish.

11) MAKE IT IN WHITE!

12) (as said before) Add a 6th gear?

Some things I don't want to see changed:
1) Center exit exhaust tips -- nice touch.
2) It's a good Sleeper
3) 20" rims
4) focus on all out badass performance

Whew...I'm done.

5) Upgrade FACTORY option packages for performance
a) upgraded Brembo brakes + better sway links + non run-flat tires (with a spare)
b) forged 392
d) true limited slip diffs
e) coil-over shocks

8) At least one more interior color choice or what about some options for the inserts? I'd love deviating stitching on Porsches . . .more money, but worth it.

Nice Post Peter...I agreed with most...And added some bold points of my own.

Since we have a good running list, there should be a poll so people could select the items important to them. This would show what was more popular for ideas that should be focused on.

In SRT's defense...IT is Street Racing Technology. If you offroad, you don't need the power to do 165 mph. It's low to the ground for a reason. It's got street tires for a reason. I hope they try to keep that focus for the SRT.
Overland should have the options you are looking for. Just not the SRT.
