WK2 to SRT

Recently came into some money, considering an upgrade. I drive a my2014 summit with 45k mi, fully optioned out, I think they all are but thought I'd mention it. Looks like dealer trade value ranges 33-36k in good condition, mine would qualify for that or perhaps very good. Either way, I'm not seeing a very attractive market price wise to move into an SRT. on autotrader, I'm seeing srts going for 63-65 new, and around 53k with around 25k mileage. Seems like quite an expense to upgrade an engine. Of course I know it comes with more. One thing I've always loved about jeeps is their value, they depreciate quite slowly.

What are your thoughts on pricing, I always pay cash. Are there certain model years to stay away from, should clarify I'm looking at new my14 or my15. Do they all come w Harmon kardon sound? I'd have to wait too long for the hellcats, plus they'll likely open at 100k, should I broaden my search to my16, are their any differences between 2015 and 2016? I've got around 35k on top of my trade.not sure about the best route. Anything else I should be considering? Drove an x5m, x6m and a handful MB AMGs (2010s), still like the srt best.

Re: WK2 to SRT

I just picked up a loaded with all options but rear nav '14 with 15k miles for 52k. So you are pretty spot on with your prices. I highly recommend the Laguana leather interior very top notch.

Re: WK2 to SRT

If you read up on this forum in the troubleshooting you will see some of the issues albeit pale in comparison the positives. Some minor build quality issues (still blows any sub $100k AUS vehicle out of the water IMO) and tranny issues that may be ironed out in the my16 but who knows.

All in all..... You'd be hard pressed to go back to a Summitt after yr first Launch Control..... Then you'll get addicted to mods..... Then extra HP and before you know it we'll all be shopping for trackhawks!

Just my 2 cents 👍

So much more than "just an engine"! I did the same switch that you are contemplating but with a fully loaded 2013 Summit. I gave my wife the Summit when I bought the SRT and now can't even stand to drive it and I used to love drivi ig it before my SRT.

For what its worth i Picked up a fully loaded with the Laguna leather (must have in my book) 2014 SRT with 8k miles last December for $57,900 and they gave me 3k more than anyone else on my trade.

Re: WK2 to SRT

Subscribed. Whattup JG peeps?

IIRC the 8 speed was expected to be an improvement, but looks like it's buggy. Any workarounds out there? Tuner to address the downshift?

Sorry if repeats, haven't been active on JG for a bit.

Cheers.

Re: WK2 to SRT

Just sold my 2014 V8 Summit for $34,500 with 53,000 miles. Dealers offers were between $31,000 - $32,000. It looked brand new. Hope u have better luck. Waiting on 2016 SRT to order, but I just noticed they don't list black as an option. I'm hoping it's just a typo.
