Can you imagine spending $70k of your hard earned money on the truck of your dreams for someone to steal it and then disgrace it like this. Yes that's why we all have insurance but it still breaks my heart to see anybody have to go thru that.

Some interesting bits left behind.....

sunroof, brakes, rear interior trims AND...................... the boot torch!

Very sad to see it in that condition. Pity they aren't parting it out but selling it as is.

After 11 winters worth of road salt, my 2002 Limited looked cleaner underneath than this SRT looks. That's surprising.

Re: Wow...thank God that's not my truck..check out this link

If you look at the photos of the right and left rear quarter panels, there's an array of 8 "black things" at an angle. They sorta look like louvers, I'm sure that's not what they are.

What are those things? Are they relays?

Any ideas on how these can be stolen (just trying to do what I can to avoid it)? I think it's crazy that they left the drivetrain and brakes... I would think those are what really makes anything an SRT model.

Re: Wow...thank God that's not my truck..check out this link

Well anything can be stolen with enough effort involved. Heck its already been proven that a car can be hacked and controled by cell signal, ill have to dig for the article. Seen it in a motor trend mag last year.

That said however, that sucks that this beautiful SRT got this treatment tho....id take the engine and pcm though.

Walk into a dealership, do a quick key swap and leave, come back a few days later and drive off in your new ride! Even if it's a theft recovery... Why are the keys with it? Been lucky to have never had my ride stolen but if so I wouldn't think that the insurance company would ask for the keys even if they recovered it- esp looking like it does currently...
