Re: 2008-2010 Turn Signal Covers.

chad, random ?...

i got some light that escapes past my turn signla covers i purchased elsewhere, there seems to be a decent enough gap between fender and cover on the light, have you or anybody else found this to be a problem?

i am prob acting crazy but when i drive at night i see a slit of light on my driver side, i am not sure if there is a quick fix or if getting better quality turn signal covers would do the trick

Re: 2008-2010 Turn Signal Covers.

Not too sure if their is a quick fix but I did wrap mind around the sides a tad but I'm not sure if light will escape until we finish. I have to say I bet their is still going to be some light escaping even with ours just no way to know how much quite yet.

take the side turn signal bulb out for good, you could also take your headlights out and take a black sharpie and touch up any area that might be letting light sneak out.

Re: 2008-2010 Turn Signal Covers.

good idea Mike

the light that escapes is from that nice crystal clear HID headlights, turn signal light isn't a problem...

at night, when HID headlights are on, there doesn't seem to be a noticeable gap but on the top of the turn signal cover between the cover and the fender, there is just enough bright light to burst through

Re: 2008-2010 Turn Signal Covers.

Ah gotcha! I just put on the Black Ops carbon fiber 08-10 signal covers this morning, need to wait for someone to come home so I can jump start the Jeep, i'll make a point to look for light leak - I too have the OEM HID's, I will report back.

Re: 2008-2010 Turn Signal Covers.

oh black electric tape should do the trick too instead of using a sharpie, i have done all sorts of cheap fixes on my SRT using stuff you can find around the garage, as long as it looks good from the outside lol

Re: 2008-2010 Turn Signal Covers.

Good point with the tape Mike!!
I made the 05-07 one's wrap a little bit more than the 08-10's to avoid like leak not saying it will solve it but may help.

Re: 2008-2010 Turn Signal Covers.

on a side note, i made sure to apply the turn signal covers as perfect as i can, i know i "form-fit" the things as best they can around the edges of the headlight

i think it all depends on the lay of one's fenders, as they can be tightened/loosened by the 3-4 bolts on the side of the hood when open, i had to mess with one of my fenders when i put the new hood on because one side was sitting above the headlight differently than other side if ya know what i mean, i dunno
