Valve Problem with the HO engine
How common is it to have Valve problems with the HO engine. Mine has about 120K on the clock and after chasing electrical problems and importing a new PCM from Germany it appears that there is a bent valve. Took some photos through the plug hole and either the valve is bent or the seat damaged. Will remove head soon and and investigate further. If this is not unusual what are the common causes???
Thanks, Scout

Re: Valve Problem with the HO engine
ZERO compression and the valve is not seating that is clearly visible in the photo.

Re: Valve Problem with the HO engine
As mentioned the valve is bent and/or valve seat dropped, therefore the lifter is off the valve. Don't know about cylinder damage as the head has not been removed. Trying to sort possible parts required, Jeep can not supply the new valve seat and as that apears in the photos to be burnt or damaged that is where it stands. Just interested if anyone else has had similar head problems?

Re: Valve Problem with the HO engine
I Have a non HO engine and i have had lots of problems with those heads. Long story short cyl #3 the valve guide dropped leaving low compression but you couldnt visually see it. now after getting the head work 1 week later number 8 dropped and it actually wedged in between the valve and head and the rocker fell off no compression what so ever. getting all the valve guides replaced.
