Wheel Specs?

I'm starting to get into offroading (quite the change from the 1/4 mile strip that I'm used to). I've ordered some tow straps, rear receiver hitch, and tow hooks. While doing some simple offroading in my yard (live on 20 acres of woods, field, hills, and creek) I quickly realized how terrible the stock tires are when ANY mud.

But at the same time, this is my DD vehicle and I want to keep tires that will last 60k miles (I drive 65 miles/day for work, ~30 miles each way). Some decent offroading tires won't last very long with that commute.

So, I'm looking for another set of wheels for the sole purpose of having offroad tires when I need them. My main criteria is CHEAP! I don't really care what they look like. I simply want them to fit and not rub. With that criteria I found Crager Soft 8 wheels for $43/each on Summit.

My question is this, is 4" backspacing, -12mm offset, and 15" diameter going to fit my Jeep? The bolt pattern is 5x5? Does anyone know of cheaper wheels that will fit?

What does that mean? Bad? I'm just looking for cheap wheels that will work. If bad, do you have any suggestions?

I'd really like an opinion on these as well as far as bang for the buck...Are these good for on and offroad?

Personally, i wouldnt get 15x8s for your off roading rims. I would get 16x8s just make sure you allow clearance for your brakes and everything inside the rim. But the specs of that rim should have no problem fitting onto your truck. Ive seen them on WJs before

Thanks for the input man. The reason I was looking at 15s as opposed to 16s is b/c tires for 15s are a decent amount cheaper. I'll double check to make sure everything will fit with 15s and if not, I'll get 16s.

So these wheels are good for onroad and offroad use yes? They arn't light or heavy etc etc? I am thinking of putting a 4" lift on my wj and rocking these 16's with the new BFG AT KOs....What size, I dunno yet it's only the 4.0L...What do you guys think? 16 Crager soft 8s with what size tires with a 4" lift?

think about this you cant have a great offroader and still have a great street car everything has its downfalls its one thing i learned .. but when buying the tirers make sure there stiff bc i got a hole in my tirer from a rock when i went trail bc i had soft tires

Re: Wheel Specs?

arrg...I'm talking about quality of the rims...are these street only? What is the quality? Will they cumple offroad? lol I already know what tires I want...Been using BFG A/T KO for a while now....Just wanted to know if this is a good rim...The price just seems too good to be true. What is the downside to these?

I really dont think there is a downside to them. Theyll have plenty of support. if you look at the specs on the web site it should tell you the weight rating and such.. its usually about a ton per rim.. which is obviously more than enough for a car
