new here... thinkin of gettin a wk. help?

Hey all.. first off.. great site!! I am looking into buying my first jeep!!

my girlfriends uncle owns a dealership and has 2 jeep grand cherokees for sale.. he is giving me a great deal and I can pick either one... Which one is the better choice? HE IS SELLING ME EITHER FOR 10,500. Below are the two options.

A) Blue 2005 jeep grand cherokee laredo 3.7l v6 WITH 67K MILES. Basic cherokee... cloth interior.. all the basics.

B) Silver 2005 Jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.7l v8 with 79k MILES. This one is like fully loaded with the heated leather seats, sunroof, boston acoustics speakers and all that good stuff....

thanks! it seems like the obvious choice, but it isssss 12k more miles on it. I heard that the v8 engine could last longer though outweighing the difference in miles.

Get the V8.

Fuel mileage is pretty much the same and the V8 won't leave you wondering constantly wishing you had "a little more power".

Either way, I'd make sure it was mechanically sound. Preferably with and independant mechanic. Unless she is a very serious girlfriend (ie common-law spouse) and this is a very close uncle.

Some of the '05s I test drove before saying "screw it" and buying new were pretty beat up, and as with most cars, first year of a new generation might have a few "bugs" in it.

yeah well we have been together for over a year, and I am very close with her family. I do trust him, in fact. her grandpa owns a garage who does all the repairs for the dealership so if something was to ever go wrong, i feel like they would help me out a bit.

good price id say?

as long as it has been taken care of, 79K miles can be less than half of the engines life!
