My LPM 7.0 short block is in.

My LPM shortblock is finally in! I’ve got less than 100 miles on, so it’s not broken in enough to flog just yet, but the time is coming. I’m very proud to admit it hasn’t seen any “open loop” at all besides during startup.

Once LPM got the engine apart, they sent off the heads to have them flowed. To none of our surprise, the heads flowed like crap and prove I wasted every penny I spent on them! That’s twice I’ve been taken on heads. Truth be told, the second set flowed less than the Heat heads I bought in ’06.

Knowing that money is tight for me and that the crappy heads would not work well with the 426, LPM hit me up with a pro bonno port and polish job! I doubt the next guy in line will get this type of service, but it really helped me out tremendously.

I plan to reinstall the Vortech within a month, but don’t be surprised if it takes me a little longer. I want to get used to the 426 before I take the next step. Also, I want to get this thing broken in and to the track. It’s been almost two months since I’ve been in anything fast, much less raced, so I’m dieing to get this thing to the track. Keep in mind; this is a low compression engine that was built for boost, so I will be thrilled if I get high 11’s. Truth be told, I really don’t know what to expect.

By the way, the tear down revealed why my Jeep was so inconsistent at the track. My valve train was shot! It’s a good thing I decided to upgrade when the lifter went out.

I’d like to apologize in advance for the bad video. I’ll do better next time.

I've heard nothing but good things about LPM. Congrats!! You have quite the little helper there. If I told my 15 year old to rev it up, you can bet that would have been interpreted as "floor it and leave it there"

BTW, it looks like it's time to update your sig
