Bad Battery?
A couple weeks ago I spent my lunch hour relaxing in the back of my Jeep listening to music without the engine running. When I left for work that day, my Jeep didn't want to start the first time I turned the key. I gave it a few seconds and tried again and it started, but not that well.

Yesterday I went to go leave work again, and it wouldn't start at all. The GPS unit would come on and I could listen to music, but it wouldn't start. I got myself boosted from a battery and went home. I used one of those motomaster chargers and left it charging all night long. I took it off the charger this morning and it started fine, but when I tried to go somewhere for lunch today, it wouldn't start again.

I'm going to go buy a new battery in a little bit but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me for sure that it's the battery, considering I can still listen to music and lights turn on.

Also, if I do go and buy a new battery, but it ends up being the alternator, how long will it be before the new battery is dead because the alternator isn't charging it?

Re: Bad Battery?
its most likely the might also have a faulty cell, that happened to my friend, he could turn the lights on, but not the car, the battery was replaced because of the faulty cell, under warranty

Re: Bad Battery?
Turned out that the light in my glove box wasn't turning off and ended up killing the new battery I bought as well... Dealership fixed it and my battery is all good again.

Re: Bad Battery?
I wonder if one light bulb inside the glovebox would drain down the battery in a few hours. The lightbulb is not that strong (maybe 10W?). A good battery should be able to start the engine even after using one light bulb for many hours. But i hope your problem is solved.
