Painted lower bumper lip/air dam installed

I bought the Blue damaged Mopar 05 to 07 lower bumper lip from SevenskaJeepGuy. He gave me a great deal on it because it was damaged.

I did not have time/skill/money to repair it properly by filling the damage and sanding etc.

What did do though was sand the entire bumper lip. I started with some 320 then 400 then 600 then 800 then 1000 scotch brite pad then 1500 pad. I cleaned up the scratches and scuffs as best i could and and prepped the old paint for SEM Flexible surface primmer that i happened to have from another project.

Then once primmed i sanded it again and prepped it for SEM Color matched paint.

I gave it alot of light coats and it came out pretty good. I might go back to the store and get the SEM clear chip guard and coat it with that. They say it works really well and if it will make it withstand some road rash longer then it might be worth the $17 a can. (big can though)

My front end is already plagued by dents and dings and road rash so it will actually blend in better i think then if it looked perfect and the rest looked like crap. It looks good in pics and from a short distance but you can deff see the damage under the paint up close. Fortunatly the ends are in great condition and the damage is in the middle where most people wont see it right away.

Now if god forbid i get in any front end accident i already have a painted lip so i would get a brand new painted lip with any front end work instead of a black plastic lip.

Now the problem is i REALLY want mopar side skirts.

Here is the link to the pics of what i started with.

Here is my final product.

Thanks Matt, it worked out great. I was going to do more and have a shop fix it but i cleaned it up enough that i was happy with it until the lucky day i get an 08 front end conversion done. I Originally wanted to buy one already Dark Khaki from Spiker but his is perfect and worth alot more. I just cant justify the cost. This in total set me back $100 with paint. Not perfect but its 10x better then black plastic.

Thanks. I am a noob to body work really, this was my first and largest piece. I have a good friend who works at the shop that repaired my wk when i was hit last year so he guides me in the right direction.

You can't. But I CAN. But thanks, its really not bad and you have to look for it or have it on a lift to notice it right away.
