What's the story on switching to the 09+ mani?? Is it worth it as a stand-alone mod? I also heard that they were on backorder..

Re: 6.1 intake manifold

The 6.1 mani does fit, but you need adapter plates. I think Modern Muscle sells them IIRC. No real point. The Eagle mani flows like 2cfm less only, retains less heat, and bolts right on (I think). Only negative is that you can't really port it because its plastic, so what it flows stock is pretty much all you got.

Re: 6.1 intake manifold

Can someone post up a pic of this Eagle Manifold? I'd like to see it.

I think this article sums it up for me. Mopar Muscle Magazine tested the 5.7L plastic manifold against the 6.1L manifold. They didnt do anything to match the port shape on the 5.7 hemi but i dont think many people buying the 6.1 intake will be pulling their heads and having them ported to match, so this should be pretty realistic. Check out the HP and TQ differences. I think there are many other places to spend my $$ especially for what the 6.1 intakes are going for.

Here is the HEMI RAM dual runner Eagle intake.

intake manifold: this is a gray area, as there are approximately 4 or 5 different manifolds available for use on the eagle. the trucks use an active intake version where as the cars do not. the active intake allows the ram to have 390 horsepower and 404 ft*lbs of torque by giving it short and long runners in the intake. a very cool design, but nothing groundbreaking, v6's have it as well.

these are the active intake, from the ram, durango (non hybrid) and aspen (non hybrid).

It is electrically controlled so you will need to figure out how to get it to work.

Re: 6.1 intake manifold

Thats why swappers use the LX car version. No need to screw around with the electronics.

Re: 6.1 intake manifold

Wow that is pretty cool (the switchable one). Hopefully someday someone will figure that out.

Re: 6.1 intake manifold

So these require some adapter to fit right? What makes it better again?
