Rain senor windshield wipers

I own an 05 WK hemi that has the rain sensitive windshield wipers. They have never worked. I have them engaged using the The computer that engages them but they have never operated at all. I have to run them manually. I have tried looking for a fuse and it appears that there may be one under the steering column where it's extremely hard to get to and where none of the fuses are labelled but after pulling all of them out and checking each found none that were burnt out. I was wondering if this has happened to any of you guys who have this option? What can I look into next? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

If you have you wipers on to the "slowest" setting when you start the Jeep does do the wipers do one sweep then stop?

Was the windshield ever replaced?

The windshield is different for a rain sensor vehicle, as there is a location for the sensor to "see the rain" (I know that sounds stupid, just don't know how to word it...)

Re: Rain senor windshield wipers

When on the lowest setting and the rain senor activated it does make one sweep accross the windshield when starting. It also does appear that the windshield has been replaced by looking at the inconsistency in parts of the window seal material. In addition, I noticed some flaking of the adhesive that they used to attach the senor to the inside of the windshield. This "flaking" is situated between the senor and the windshield and may also be obstructing the field of the sensor.
