New Used Jeep GC - '07'
I'm looking to buy a used 2007 3.7 v6 2wd Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I'm reading spotty reports of reliability. I've seen several posts that note that the jeep has had electrical issues such as windows behaving on their own.

Also seen engine troubles noted.

Just wondering if the general consensus is that this particular model year is troublesome or if it is just as good as any other.

Did Jeep introduce any significant changes to the vehicle in this year?

Thanks all,

Personally... Id look for a 4.7L model. V8 is better and the MPG's are the same as the v6 not to mention if you plan to mod it and do any towing bigger engine will work out... also it will have low range so good for off roading.

If you can swing it, the 5.7L would be the best bet.

budget wise, around here the v8 and v6 are nearly the same price. not sure how it is in cali though.

08 is when they changed some of the things such as discontinuing the 4.7 and also the front fascia looks smoother

I agree with max I would look into a 4.7 rather than a 3.7 I bought my 3.7 for the same reason of MPG's come to find out that the HEMI MDS system and the 4.7 can actually get same or even better if you drive carefully plus the towing is amazing

You can also find easier engine modifications for the V8's

I have both an 06 Laredo and an 05 Limited and the 3.7 is about 2-5 MPG better than the HEMI. No way can the HEMI touch the 3.7 on MPG. Just an FYI I set my cruise at 60 in the HEMI and can't touch anything better than 19 MPG which is great for what it is. If MPG is your thing the 3.7 is the way to go. If you want towing then step up to a 4.7. However, the 4.7 is pretty bad fuel economy wise although this is just what I've read. If you want power, sound, modability, and decent fuel economy and can swing the price, the HEMI is the way to go.

I'd go for an 08+ with at least a 4.7 IMO.

But I think the 07 V6 would be perfect if thats all you need. Ive been on Jeep forums for a long time and I dont see many complaints on any Jeep engines. Its mostly little electrical things that are usually easily solved
