Any glitches after weeks of driving?

Early, perhaps, but has anybody who now owns a new WK had any problems whatsoever? Rattles, failures, wind noise, leaks, software bugs -- whatever?

Except for the infamous early review unit with failed power steering and serpentine belt, the silence concerning problems has been almost eerie. Can the new GC really be holding up perfectly (we hope), or is it simply too early to tell even a little bit?

I ran into 2 problems....

First, was a key fob that would only start the car via remote start or popping the push button and inserting the key. Also the proximity entry didn't work either, all other functions worked fine.

The solution. Wasn't a problem with the truck. What had happened the dealership had lost the original fob. When I took delivery the salesman went to the partsroom and had the service dept reprogram a new one. It never occured to anyone that a fob made for keyless go and enter and go was completely different. Dealership found and mailed me the original key, and all is good.

Second, the radio loses communication with the IPOD. window pops up on the screen and say's waiting for comm. It never connects. One time turning off the engine cleared it, otherwise just disconnecting the cable and plugging it back in, takes care of the problem. Same thing happens with the radio in my Charger. No biggie to me.

RER on the 11, and RES (I think) on the Charger.

We got ours on July 19th. Laredo X, 5.7L, QDII. Coming up on one month of ownership, and 2500 miles on the odometer. We don't usually drive that much, but we left for a trip with friends 6 days after taking delivery and put over 1600 miles on it that week.

We have zero complaints about the car. Everything about it is smooth. The braking is smooth, acceleration is smooth, shifting is fairly smooth, steering is tight, smooth, and on-center. Shifting could be a little smoother, but I knew what I was getting with the 5.7L and its older 5 speed tranny.

There are no squeaks or rattles. Fit and finish is excellent. Wind noise and road noise are very low. One drawback to the heavily noise-insulated cabin is that it also insulates you from the sweet, sweet hemi sound.

I've never driven a car that feels this good. Then again, my past cars don't set the bar very high - '96 XJ, '06 KJ, '06 Tacoma. But still, the WK2 feels amazing.

If I want to really try hard to come up with complaints... These aren't glitches or problems; they're design issues. The rear wiper motor is oddly placed and looks like a wart on the back glass. And the center console encroaches on my right knee room where it curves into the dashboard. My knee hits it unless I move the seat back further than I'd like. Then again, I tend to drive with the seat much farther forward than most do.

Glad your happy with the purchase. I can't wait until mine finally comes in!

Does JeepGarage have any relationship with TrueDelta's reliability surveys? Surprisingly, they have no GC data after the 2007 model, not even on their premium listings...

Have over 8000 miles on mine and have had no issues am amazed on how quite it is. Want to take it on some trails and rocks to see how it does. A lot of miles but too much highway. Trying to get something set up to see how it does.

Re: Any glitches after weeks of driving?

I have an 11 overland 5.7 with 1700 miles and i am taking my jeep to the dealer on saturday to have them update the pcm. There is a TSB for the issue listed on another thread somewhere around here, check it out. There is a slight rumble when accelerating, at first i thought it was rough pavement but the more it happened on smooth ground i realized there was an issue. Sounds like an easy fix and should take less than an hour to finish according to the service dept. Other than that i have no complaints, great SUV.
