Another confusing order/buying/owning experience... (long)

HEY ALL! long time jeep fan here, first time owner!
Just thought i'd relate my buying experience of my '11 Overland 5.7.
Started off with placing my order for dark charcoal with the black interior. was told that it was about 6-8 weeks out.
i continually (almost every day) called the dealership and jeep customer service to figure out if my late june order would ship with quadralift or what. nobody knew! not a single person!
finally started becoming a real pain about it and was told that since my order now had been pushed back into an October delivery, it probably would. (this was after the news was posted here that the quadralift production had started). the uncertainty regarding that ultimately made me cancel the order, and track one down (charcoal on frost) some 500 miles away so i could be sure about what i was getting (scared of air suspension reliability in the long term).
a deposit, quick plane ride, and a great ride back i am now the proud owner of my overland!
i can't speak enough about how incredible this car is. i felt bad getting it all muddy on day one, but hey its a jeep.

Now, on to the next. maybe someone else with an 11 can chime in here.
i have a shuddering/vibration intermittently (doesn't happen all the time) on acceleration? what could that be all about? it has 1000 miles on it. does it slightly on the deceleration, not as much though. fairly pronounced at times, passengers asking what in the world is that. generally in the 3k rpm range.
maybe something that goes away as it gets broken in?
any ideas? confusing because its so freakin new.

thanks guys! excited to be part of the family!

I haven't noticed any shudder or vibe. I have the 5.7L, too. I have the towing package with the load-leveling rear suspension. Do you have this? If not, my Jeep and yours might not be comparable here.

Where does it feel like it's coming from? Rear end, front wheels? Do you feel it in the steering wheel, in your seat, in the gas pedal?

Has all the aspects of a harmonic imbalance in some part of the vehicle...the engine, the driveshafts, or the wheels. You need to have a dealer look into this.

Bring it back ASAP and get that looked at. That is definitely not normal behavior of a Break in and doubt it will go away on its own.

I just ordered an overland with the frost interior. Is there any way that you can post some pics because no one around here has this combination or even a dark charcoal jeep. I am a little concerned with the color since I have not been able to see it yet!

Thanks!

As opposed to the stock Jeep pictures that make the interior seem to be a "cream beige", the pics linked above show the interior color as close to how it appears in person...more gray than beige. It will be a nice combination with the dark charcoal exterior. Is it that color, the exterior, that you haven't seen?

I haven't seen the dark charcoal exterior yet. There are no cars around Omaha with this color but we went ahead and ordered it anyway.

Jeep Garage is a great resource and I will become a supporter!

Being a site supporter gets you the ability to have your vehicle tracked through the build process as well as having a custom PDF Build Sheet with every option.

Enjoy!

Hi, I'm looking at buying an Overland sometime this fall. I haven't gotten to sit in an Overland yet, only a Limited, and I was wondering if there is a difference in the seat comfort/cushi-ness between the seats in the Limiteds and the Overlands.

I have sat in both at the dealer.. I can't say that one is more comfortable then another personally, but the Overland for example has the piping up the sides, as well as the stitched dashboard.. The perorations in the front seats allow for the ventilated seats.. (A/C seats kind of)

Its a matter of preference of the additional items I mentioned but I'd sit in both when you can to see personally if one feels better then another, I think there the same.
