Extended Warranty

I was wondering if anybody has purchased the extended warranty on the 2011 Grand Cherokee and what the costs are. On the Jeep website the Maxcare for 100K with 100.00 deductibleing is over $3,000 but it does say retail price. Wondering if the dealer dicounts and how much. Thanks

I've seen a company recommended on here I believe..

www.Chryslerwarrantys.com

Its a dealership which sells them online and are greatly reduced from retail pricing.. You could try to get your dealership to match it or if not, buy it online.. Its the same exact warranty which can be used anywhere...

Having been screwed by a warranty company that went bankrupt, I would suggest that you only consider Chrysler itself for any extended warranty.

Im not sure if thats to imply that the website I gave was non chrysler or just a general statement, however the website given is that of a Chrysler warranty, not third party or dealer backed.. Hence the reason it works at any jeep/dodge/chrysler service center.

Also I have never bought from them, just something I read on the forums..

Interesting site, although the 2011 isn't listed for a quote. I wonder if this is truly a chrysler Jeep extended warranty. I'm considering an extended warranty because of all the new electronic gizmos on the new Jeep plus the quadralift that is coming on my overland, I worry about longevity since it is new to Jeep.

J13, I was just giving a reference to those that should use the link you provided instead of going the route I took years ago with a ZJ. I used Warranty Gold, and during my first claim with them, they went out of business!

Im pretty sure it would have gotten knocked down years ago had this site not being for real. You cant advertise "Get A Genuine Chrysler Service Contract And Save Up To 40%" and offer a third party or dealer warranty.. They are an actual dealership.

But yes Jim, 100% agreed, a Manufacture backed warranty is 100x better, because gosh for bid they go out, you know it will be backed by Govt or someone else. A third party can drop off the face of the earth and thats it..

Re: Extended Warranty

I usually never buy the add-on crap they sell but ended up buying the lifetime powertrain warranty for 1500.00 from the dealer. This is a chrysler warranty with unlimited miles, no cap, and 100.00 per occurrence deductible. The guy started off at 3900.00 for the warranty and then dropped to 2500.00 kept refusing and then he said 1700.00. I said i would do it for 1500.00. Guess what happened? my $500.00 military rebate disappeared when he brought back the paperwork for me to sign. I guess he figured he would make up the margin there, but got it fixed and got the lifetime warranty for 1500 and the 500 rebate I was supposed to have.

Lifetime powertrain, what does that include for the 2K paid? Looking at the 5 year 100K Maxicare but trying to see what folks are paying. They want a fortune at retail.

Go to chryslerwarrantys.com and check there. They had the lifetime powertrain for $885. I also saw 7/100,000 bumper to bumper for like $1600 that is also able to be transferred one time.
