flickering leds

So as many may know i have a how to section here to assist in installing LEDS into your Jeep. When i first started out i went and bought a "kit" on ebay. Ok it worked for a while and i guess it was okay. However, i have been getting a few lights (map and rear passenger) that have been doing this weird flickering thing when they are on. Since not all of them do it im assuming its crappy LED bulbs? Anyone have suggestions on bulbs that wont break the bank for a unemployed graduate and or reasons why this may be happening?

Do you have a resistor?

No i dont, which is why i get the 10% glow when the Jeep is running. That is okay, i kinda like it anyhow. However, my lights did not do this until recently.

Put a resistor in the trunk light.

The resistor will most likely help, at least a little, it's mainly going to be poopy LEDs if you bought them for dirt cheap on eBay. It also depends on the LEDs themselves...so many factors can effect the performance.

Here is a good article on LEDs and resistors - Click Here

Yeah sometimes it pays to spend the extra for good led's. My whole kit cost about $90. from V-LED. glove box, visor, under dash, rear cargo, back seat reading, front map, license plate. I also did the carco light strip and thats when I got the glow. I plugged a resistor in the cargo light on the door and never had a problem since... I just bent the leads on the resistor ti fit in where the wires go into the harness and used electrical tape to hold it in place...

well i think im going to look into the incandescent light in the cargo area first followed by the resistor idea.
