Brake pads and rotors (newbie)
I will be replacing both my brake pads and rotors soon because the dreaded car inspection coming in october. I know for a fact everything has to be replaced because when I brake at high speeds 50+, I feel vibration(wraped rotors??). I've been searching for the past hour or so for some new rotors. btw. i have a 2001 grand cherokee larendo(4wd).|Year%3A2001

Are those any good? My budget is about 400.00-500.00. I'm also trying to save as much money as I can so I can buy some things to enhance its stock look(rain guards....custom headlights, a grill, and etc..). If possible a couple links to cheap rotors and brakes that'll be pretty decent price and durability wise. Thx in advance.

Re: Brake pads and rotors (newbie)
i believe there is a vendor here that sells drilled/slotted rotors...

EDIT: heres the link you can choose from different styles, it says it in the thread, good luck! :)

Mine passed it's MOT (similar to your inspections) with the rotors warped! Some people have had issues with drilled/ slotted ones squealing(can't think why) but it's been discussed a few times. That's why I've stuck with stock ones. I picked up a set for about $75 on ebay.

I personally would not go with drilled/slotted unless I had a high performance vehicle...

I guess i'll stay away from drilled/slotted based on what i've read. It looks like I may come out a lot cheaper also by going stock. Thx for everyone's input!

Re: Brake pads and rotors (newbie)
your not going to get great items on eBay that are no names.

first figuer out which caliber you have on the front akeborn or trever can tell buy looking at the front and back and if they look the same both are trevers. also if you get under the jeep and look at the back of the front caliber, if you see wring should be akeborn.

if you are in the US go to autozoen or napa and get the pads with a lifetime warranty ($20-$50 a pair). they will have rotors with a 2-3 year warranty (about $55 each) but if they warp will just return all the parts for your. if you go to autozoen and use the reward program and get the free $20 off buying everything one at a time. can go with stilling or higher end but all will do the same.
