Order dates for Overland options

Hi, new member here. I am considering ordering an Overland sometime this fall. If I get one, I'm really leaning towards V6 4x4, Black with saddle interior, plus I want all the cool features on it such as Quadra lift, adaptive cruise, bliss, etc.

Per the info listed on this forum, I won't be able to order saddle until Oct. and adaptive cruise and bliss won't be available to order until Dec.

My question is, can an Overland be ordered with those options in advance of availability so that wait time is reduced for actual delivery. I'm willing to wait a little while, but I would really like to have a new ride by Christmas.

I also read on another post that construction of the Overland has been suspended for now?? But, I wasn't clear on why it has been suspended?

Thanks,
Anita

First off, welcome to the forum. I'll try to answer your two questions..

Unfortunately, I believe your going to have to wait to order it to include certain features. For example Quadra-Lift, a standard feature, wasn't actually being included on vehicles ordered prior to June 22nd. But orders after that date would include it. Even though it seems like there was a delay, Overlands now seem to be cranking out of the factory as of late just by the tracking of the few members who have ordered one thus far.

Not true, an Overland, Technosavants (a member here) had his built just last night ~1:00am.. Some Dealers may be on restriciton, which means based on how many vehicles they sold previously is how many they can order in the future, thus if they have more orders then allowed vehicles, Chryslers won't process the build until they get some order allotments.

Hopefully I've answered your questions and someone else can jump in if the part about ordering availability however its under the impression it has to be available in order to order it.. Thus it would THEN show up in the dealer computer to order.. Right now they aren't there when unavailable.

I doubt that even if you order your features at the soonest possible date, you'd still have it built and delivered by Christmas. Those dates where the order banks for those features open are not necessarily the dates when they start building them. For example, as J13ntv pointed out, Quadra-Lift was considered able to be ordered as of June 22, but they were not actually produced until August 9.

Overlands are being built, some options will delay things more than others; it seems that the V-8 models are going through more quickly than the V-6 ones; mine has a V-6, and I'm currently doing a happy dance because the vehicle now exists in reality as opposed to in potentia. There's one or two who ordered a bit after me, but had theirs built before, and current speculation is because they opted for the Hemi, which is in bigger supply. Maybe that will be fixed by the end of the year, likely not.

If you order at the earliest possible date, I hate to say it, but you may be talking late February for potential delivery.

We placed our order for V8 4x4 Overland 8-18. Ordered through Spring Chrysler/Jeep in Houston. They are supposed to be one of the largest dealers around. Second time buying through them and they have been really professional and nice. But they told us the Overland is on restriction - now I'm wondering, maybe it's the dealer that's on restriction - how do you know? we were told it might be Dec til delivery.

I ordered an Overland V6 4X4 the day before you did, and my dealer in Tennessee told me the same thing. He said it would probably be mid December before I got it, but from what I am seeing on this site and the list that Milous maintains daily, well it should not take that long. Also, it is being told here that rumor has it that jeep is stepping up producton of Overlands to try and get rid of some of the backlog. We can only hope.

Actually the saddle interior will be available for order the 2nd week of Sept. Of course that could change but it's the most current info as of today. It's been pushed back before but you should be able to order it within the next two weeks.

The dates I have listed in the "Latest information and Updates" thread (http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=4482) are the production start dates for the feature/option listed, and not the date that ordering would begin. In most cases ordering will open up ahead of the production start date.

I appreciate the offer and service that Milous is doing but I guess the anticapation is half the fun. I just wish that I would have found this site long ago, I think I would have waited until next year to order just because of some of the new toys coming our later. Ill keep all informed as well as pics. Thanks!!
