Tow Hooks on Overland

Just ordered the Overland and had a quick question about tow hooks. You guys know if the 2 tow hooks are included in the front? what about the rear tow hook?

Thanks

The tow hooks only come if you have ordered the off road package. If you did not, you have neither the tow hooks nor the skid plates. The rear tow hook is only included if you did not get a towing package.

If you like, the tow hooks can be added as an accessory; I'm thinking about having the hooks and plates added on.

The tow package is standard on the Overland...so assuming I didnt get the rear or the front because I didnt get the off road package...bummer!

This is another thing that needs to be sorted out regarding what is "standard" and what you will get with that. The Overland seems to come standard with a tow hitch, but it may not be the entire Tow Group of the options.

When I ordered my Overland, the tow group was not standard- I paid extra for it (the one that comes with the V-6).

They have since changed it an made the tow package standard with the Overland. Can see here as well http://209.128.70.155/JeepConfig.htm. I ordered the V6 as well.

I ordered July 10; looks like that document was issued on July 20, so I was about a week and a half early.

I was too busy trying to figure out when Quadra-Lift became a given and which nav system would be standard to worry about the Trailer Tow Group. :D

You'd think deciding on standard equipment wouldn't be this hard, but then again, apparently it IS just that difficult to figure out.

When the vehicle arrives, and you see the Maroney label, you can renegoiate the price depending upon how it shows there.

I thought all V8 Overlands get the TP IV and V6 Overlands get the regular TP. The reg TP is not standard on all Overlands it depends on the engine.

I've been wondering about that as I don't believe they're in the Mopar catalog for the WK2.

But I remember the tow hooks for my KJ were Mopar accessories, and I think the WK, too. (both the KJ and WK may have even used the same hooks?)

If they're not offered as accessories, then of course you could still get them as "parts"; just have the parts department look them up. But if they're sold as actual 'accessories', then thought will likely have been put into them to make them easy to install by owners (bolt positions, mounting brackets/holes on the vehicle, etc.). If they're just a replacement 'part', then no guarantee it'll be an easy install.
